Question
I'm not sure if this goes in the health section since it's more of a mental health thing. But lately I've been having a LOT of dreams about ex-SOs. I'm not sure why and they definitely aren't good dreams about them. Most of them, actually are that I'm supposed to marry them and I look at them and just dread being with them. I start paninking about marrying them and then I wake up and am so happy that DF is next to me and it's him I'm marrying. I also had one where I bought my wedding gown at Goodwill without even looking at it because it was cheap. But when I brought it home it was hideous and a size 44DD (I'm a 34A) . Where does my head come up with this????

This has been happening a lot in the last few weeks and actually, I haven't even been thinking about wedding stuff lately. I've been so stressed out with school and work that the wedding is not a concern to me right now.

I don't think this is cold feet. Do you think that I am just taking my stress out through wedding dreams? I don't know what's going on but I am constantly waking up in the morning thinking why the hell am I dreaming about this?

Any dream experts out there?

No dream expert here, but I can't even tell you the number of dreams I had about my ex before my wedding - hundreds probably. I also have crazy wedding dress dreams (it was usually red and not white), space dreams (i couldn't sit next to mike at the reception) and a ton others.

Thanks Heather! It's good to know I'm not nuts. I just kind of wish these dreams would stop. I can't handle 10 more months of this.

I've been having dreams about my ex fiance too and in the dream, he wants me but i keep saying no and make it clear to him that i've moved on.

I think its just a way for your mind to tell you that those past relationships mean nothing to you and youre over it, thats why you dread marrying them. Dont worry, im sure they'll eventually go away

I've got to agree -- it's your subconscious's way of saying "good-bye". Hopefully you won't go through 10 more months of it! I had those weird getting-ready-for-the-wedding dreams around my DD's wedding, too! You're definitely not alone.

I have dreams that are similar to that, too. I always am with an ex and they feel like nothing is wrong and I have this sick feeling in the pit of my stomach, because I know that I love Tom and not them, except in my dream I've never actually dated Tom and he barely knows me.

I don't know what it means and I can't even verify that you're not crazy, since I'm not the picture of sanity myself, but at least you're not alone!

Thanks everyone! Things at school are starting to calm down and really will after my exam tomorrow. I also have contacted the photographer and cake people and all I need to do is send in deposits and they are booked! Maybe all of this will take some stress off!
