Question
My Mom had her first MRI ever today. She's been diagnosed with two bulged discs and degenerative disc disease (what I also have). Because it's hereditary, we couldn't figure out how I ended up with this but assumed it came from my Dad, but he never complained of back pain as far as my Mom can remember. I don't have his medical history... Anyway, my Mom has been having this weird numbness lately in her leg, so she finally went to the doc. She doesn't have any pain (thankfully) but because of her age, she was worried it was something much more serious.
She called me this afternoon and she was so excited, lol. She's been more upset than I have about not knowing how I got this and from where it came. She said she's always had occasional back pain, but doesn't everyone? When it first started for her, MRIs didn't exist. Guess I can stop asking "Why me?"
Another little fact she could have left out - when she was pregnant with me, Ultrasounds didn't exist yet, lol. Lovely. Just lovely.
Answer
At least you know why you have back problems. I'm glad that it's nothing more serious for your mom.
Answer
Glad to hear you have the answers that have plagued you, now my question, does your mom need surgery?
Answer
Its good to hear that you have the answers now!
Answer
It's definitely nice to at least know where it came from.
Mary - my Mom does not need surgery. She's in no pain at all, thankfully. When she does have some pain, she said it's nothing a couple Tylenol and a heating pad won't take care of.
