Question
Did any of your men have a manicure before the wedding? I mean just you know to have them trimmed adn cleaned. I know this seems like an odd question, but a close up pic of our hands has me a little worried and I really like one. I just worry he's going to show up with dirty finger nails... ok so I think the wedding has made me officially lose my mind. But serisouly anyone?
Answer
Tom's nails are usually clean but if they weren't, I'd absolutely make him get one, or I'd at least make him let me clean him up a bit.
Thankfully he is meticulous, so...
Answer
I think DH did have one... no polish of course, but he went in with me and had his nails filed and buffed.
Answer
I never thought about this. Thats a great idea for guys to do
Answer
I thought about it for Justin too, but since he has a desk job and is very particular to begin with I didn't feel the need to mention it. But if you have a hands on laborer i.e: mechanic, carpenter, plumber....I would gently suggest making it a "bonding" type of experience...some men might take it the wrong way.
Answer
I think it's a great Idea as well!!! My FSIL her husband gets them done once a month as well as his eyebrows shaped!!!! I would like Dave to do the same!!!

I have seen a lot of "hands and rings" photos where the eye is immediately drawn to the quick-bitten, raggedy cuticles of the groom's hands. So, my daughter talked my DH into getting a manicure with her two weeks before the wedding then the day before the wedding. He thought it was bonding-time. And I guess it was, too.
Now the eyebrow shaping--- it makes me think about Christian Troy on Nip/Tuck. I think his eyebrows are a bit too shaped.
Answer
I encouraged DH to, but he would have none of it
Answer
I think if you go someplace to have it done, it needs to be in a place that either specializes in male pampering or has a private area OR do it at home!! I could imagine a man being a little put off by being the only male in a nail salon!
Chris and I do our nails together! LOL He has beautiful hands and fingers and keeps them short and always very clean. I just got him to agree to letting me do a cuticle treatment and me filing and buffing them. We usually do it while watching tv. He finds it relaxing and I enjoy doing it!!

Tony went with me a month or two before the wedding and tried it for the first time. He thought it was a waste of money, and his only cost like $7!! So, he didn't really want to do it again, so I didn't make him. Our hand pics are different than the usual ones though. I don't think you could see his messed up fingers too clearly.

My dad used to get manicures regularly... and now my FH (who is a coal miner with VERY dirty hands all the time) teases him about it... so I'm guessing I won't be able to talk him (FH, not dad) in to one for our wedding.
Does anyone know of any good home hand treatments "for men"? He keeps his nails dangerously short, so really we just need soemthing to get his hands cleaned and softened.
BTW - labeadel, I LOVE that picture! It's so much more fun and original than the traditional "hands-only" pic. We'll probably steal the idea from you, though FH STILL needs to get his hands cleaned for that
Answer
Hey Julie... I'm OBSESSED with hand/nail care. Do you think Rick would let me mess with his hands? I promise I won't tell anyone!
I got Brad's mechanic hands sparkly clean... I'm sure I can do something for a coal miners!

Yeah right, he'll believe that in a million years!
But seriously, it's worth a try. I think his sis is into that stuff to, so maybe you guys can corner him a day or two before the wedding. Some of his relatives may have suggestions as well - all his uncles are coal miners/mechanics, but they all have pretty clean hands...
