Yay Robert ! You're in the forum!!!
Those are the approximate numbers that I have always read. (I wonder who counts them.)

Answer
The statistics on red hair seems strange to me. I think it has to be the real carrot red (or orange)because it is coarser hair.
I'm a redhead but I think I fall into the blonde category since my hair is fine.

Yes, there really are natural blondes around. Only your hairdresser knows for sure!

Answer
The genes for hair color can come from ancestors.
Red hair appears in my family in every other generation. I was told this when I was a child and have seen it proven.
My father, mother, brother and I all had different colors of hair.
Then, of course, you see families where everyone looks alike.
