Help..I need some advice
Question
I am 50 and I am looking for a new hairdo. My hair is growing out from a bob. I really like Paula Zahn's haircut and was wondering if I could pull that off. I have a long face and bangs. I need something that is not high maintenance. I would like to know where I can find some good pictures to show my hairdresser. Thanks Answer Here are several different looks. Any of these styles are good for a narrow face shape as long as you don't go much longer than chin length. Answer My hair is very thin and baby fine. During the aftermath of the hurricane Isabel, I had it cut really short. Now it is perfectly straight and clingy. I began using Dep to give it some stability so that with every movement it wouldn't fly away. How do you use Dep or someother better product to make your hair stand up a bit? I don't know that I would want to look like it is spiked as if I put my finger into an electric socket, if you know what I mean. Bangs are necessary as I have a very high forehead (almost a widows peak). I am a klutz when it comes to doing my hair. Answer Angie, To use Dep actually I would suggest another gel. Volume Gel or some other professional product. Since I don't use styling aids from the store I can't recommend any from there. Anyway to use it: Make sure your hair is wet (not dripping) Put about a nickel size amount in your palm. Rub your hands together to emulsify the gel and so there is just a thin coating on your hands. Then run your hands through your hair making sure to apply it at the root area. Answer Now I understand what I am doing wrong. Thanks so much for your help, Dr. L. Can you get volume gel at Sallys? Answer No, but you can get something very similar. Sometime within the next 2 weeks I will be offering my own line of hair care products! I've been working with a manufacturer, experimenting with formulas and have come up with a line that I think is wonderful. It has body-builders, great holding power, built in conditioning, and even sunscreen. You are the first person I've told about it. They will be available online so check back here and on the . Answer Wow Dr. L that is SO COOL!!! I want to get some when you get them out on the market, I've got soaps from Jeanne and now I'll have hair products from Dr. L! I'll get the whole house decked out on host-created products Editor - Answer I'm excited! Having my own line is neat but even more so because these are products that I want to use on my own hair. I've used sooooo many different brands in my years as a hairdresser. I can honestly say that these are the best. Answer My new line of hair care is now available! I'm just getting the website put together. (Let me know if you have any problem navigating it) :music: Answer Oh goodie! Matrix Essentials changed the formula for their hairspray and my salon no longer carries it. I've been using Bed Head but don't particularly like it. Can't wait to try your stuff out, Dr. L! Answer I couldn't stand myself any longer - I broke down and got a body wave! Answer Angie, Thats great! Waves are very much "in style" right now. Especially, scrunched and natural looking. |
