Cowlicks and Wierd Growth Patterns

Question
Or, all I want for Christmas is an undercut......
When my hair is cut the right way, it turns under by itself. But for the last ten years, no one who has cut my hair has been able to do this. The exception is the one person who finally noticed that my hair grows to the side on the left side of my head. She simply "cut it to go the other way" and there was no problem - but subsequent haircuts messed up what she did and I'm back at square one.
Does anyone know the trick to this? I no longer know where she's working and when I mention it to other hairdressers, they don't know what I'm talking about.
I have a very strong cowlick in the front as well, and finally refused to let anyone cut it. I cut my own bangs, because one wrong snip of the scissors on that cowlick messes up my entire head!

Answer
Sounds like you need to find a hairdresser who has had advanced cutting education. Sassoon classes or Roger Thompson classes teach cutting round cowlicks and such. You'll have to find a hairdresser who actually uses their training.

Answer

Thanks, Dr. L. A lovely lady just trimmed it for me and we are turning under in the back, but not without a fair bit of work. I mentioned this to her as well, and she didn't have any idea how it's done, either. Apparently this isn't a basic that is taught in beauty college. I'm growing it out and if it starts flipping up again when it grows, I'll call some of the high dollar salons in Tulsa

Answer
Well.....two years of growing out my bangs for the first time in my life - and today I had them cut! I decided my lined forehead needed to be covered up! I think they make me look a little younger - but hubby hasn't even noticed yet!
She fixed the mess in the back with a razor and was quite proud of herself! It turns under now!
