WHICH LASER?!

Question

Answer

Answer
There are good lasers out there for LHR and I wouldn't know which one the "best" would be. There are variables such as the type of skin you have, the color of your hair and the area to be treated. Generally speaking, I've read good stuff about the LightSheer. I've expecrienced the Coolglide, GentleLase and the Aurora. I have definately seen good results with all of these. I've got II to III skin with brown hair. I think if I had to start all over again, I think the GenteLase and Coolglide had more obvious effects in a shorter time.

Answer
best laser for your depends on your skin and hair type. if you can provide that, we can advise.

Answer

Answer
Asian skin - around III-IV, very very dark hair... (nightmare scenario!)

Answer
goodlicker, if you have dark hair, then alexandrite or diode laser in good hands is best for you. "Pale" is subjective. Look up the Fitzpatrick chart online to determine your approximate skin type.
kingkong, either a diode or a Yag laser for you.
Both of you should make sure to find an experienced tech along with the best laser for you. The way they treat you and set the settings is important in obtaining good results.

Answer

Answer
You might want to get a patch test done with both of them to see how well things respond.

Answer
find some places with Yag lasers and have consultations. The results between the models will really depend on the skill and knowledge of the tech. Some Yag models are Sciton, Lyra-i, Coolglide, GentleYag, Apogee Elite, etc

Answer
Someone posted a link a while ago with the lasers that won awards last year:
I wouldn't take it to mean that any laser not on there is not going to work well for you, but at least you'll have some names to look out for. Getting a test spot done is always a good idea.

Answer
Hey- thats great- thanks! The awards site is brilliant, at least it gives an idea of the industry movements and which laser you can use as a yardstick. the wavelength stuff is a little confusing, but now at least I have an idea what to look out for- thanks everyone!
