Electrolysis on chin, almost a year, minimal results?

Question
Hello, I'm new here, and glad I found this place.
I've been going for electrolysis on my chin since April of 2005. I had what I thought were at most 10 hairs, but the tech told me there were many more. I'm very fair, with dark hair, mid 30s (if this changes anything).
The first 4 months were 'regular' electrolysis, once a week, then she moved to 'blend' for about a month (every two weeks, from that point on), and now she's back to 'regular', still once every two weeks.
I see no progress at all, and I don't know if this is possible, but it seems worse. The tech told me "Well, you have fewer outbreaks, now", when I asked about progress. Not a word about the hair. She told me initially that it takes 5-7 'shots' per hair to kill it. It's been that and more, now.
Advice?
Thank you

Answer
I'm sorry to have to disagree with your electrologist, but I have NEVER found it necessary to shoot a hair 5-7 times over a period of time before it is gone for good. Treating a hair in the growing stage with enough energy for the correct amount of time with the probe in the correct place will kill it the first time. Some hairs that are very large may have to be broken down over two or three hair growth cycles, but most growing hairs are goners if electroysis is preformed skillfully.
You are consistent with your appointments and you should have been farther progressed than what you describe. Did you interview a couple electrologists before you started this process? Some are better at this than others.
With that said, the other possibility has to do with something out of the control of your electrolgists hands. If you have a situation that is causing your hairs to be stimulated, then you can't blame her for the tidal wave of hair.
Can she at least clear you each time? This time frame sounds kind of long for you what you described.

Answer
Hi deef, yes, she manages to clear everything within 15 minutes, but within 4 days or so, there are some new one popping out, and the electrologist said that "I'm not a good candidate for weekly appts".
To add to that, she's hellbent on getting my upper lip done, when I told her I don't want it touched (I have a few blond hairs, but they don't bug me at all).
I think it's time to move on. I saw you mention a company in Montreal that excels in electrolysis. I'll find the thread again, and give them a call.
Thanks for your help.
