Answer
lasers are picked based on your skin type. look up the Fitzpatrick chart.
types I-III -- either diode or alexandrite type laser is best
type IV -- either diode or Yag laser
Types V and darker - Yag laser is the only safe choice that won't cause burns and hyperpigmentation

Answer
I have to disagree. ANY laser can cause burns and pigmentation, and ANY od the lasers mentioned can treat your skin type. It all depends on your tech. You would be better off with an experienced tech using an Alex, than an inexperienced one using a Yag.
Males under 50 can expect to have at least 10 treatments before noticing any results. You may be lucky and see something after 5 or 6, but it is rare in young males.
If you have a high carbohydrate diet, (lots of fast foods, beer) overweight, don't exercise, then there is no point in you starting. It will be a waste of money.
Just my opinion

Answer
any laser can treat, that doesn't mean that that's the best option. alex and diode lasers are low settings are a waste of time. so technically, sure, you can treat, but doesn't mean you'll see any results. what i outlined are general guidelines based on the assumption that the tech using the device is equally trained on all machines.

Then you didn't actually mean this? Blanket statements like this are dangerous

Answer
i have to say the same thing over and over. when i say that, it's in a response to a very short straigthtforward questions. all answers presuppose that the technician knows what they're doing. if they don't, that's a whole different story. a hairstylist can cut off your ear when cutting your hair, but it's an assumption that if they know what they're doing, they won't.
