pulsating light

Question
Hi everyone.. i posted on the electrolysis forum, but got no answer. Anyway i've got some other questions now, i hope you can help. Thanks in advance.
Well i did some laser on my face and then some electrolysis on some parts.
Then i noticed on my chin the hairs turned blond, and still very thick. I read that it usually happens when using laser.
As my skin is a bit too sensitive for electrolysis, i started with photodepilation (they use a gel on my face unlike the laser).
What are your views on photodepilation? Is laser better or does it do the same thing?

Answer
what device is being used for this "photodepilation". Sounds like just an IPL. Some lasers and IPLS use gels too.

Answer
i guess it might be, i'm not english so i have a dificult time translating.
one thing i remebered they do with this 'photodepilation' is that they can apply a colorant to darken the blonde hair.
This is another question i have.. i am thinking of using this colorant to remove the blonde hair that grew after laser.
I'll try to resume the questions:
- is it normal to get thick blonde hair after using some kinds of laser?
(the hair was black and thick in the chin area, now it is thick and blonde!)
- does the IPL (assuming that's what it is) do the same work as a 'normal' laser without gel?
- do you know about these colorants? Does the hair turn brown/black in a very noticeable way?
All these questions come from getting information from several places (dermatologists vs. laser clinics), but none giving straight forward answers
It's such a slow process that i'm affraid the fact i changed equipment will make it slower.
Thank you again for your help!!

Answer
no, laser doesn't normally turn all hair blond. someone mentioned this happened before in europe with some machine that we don't really see used in the united states. i doubt it's a permanent effect since hair grows in 3 cycles. after a while, your hair should return back to black.
dye for blond hair in order to treat it with laser that is attracted to dark pigment DOESN'T work because it doesn't color the roots (unless your roots are black, in which case you don't need to dye anything anyways). I would wax the area and wait till the next black batch grows in. Then find a diode or alexadrite laser for best way to get rid of that hair.

Answer
oh.. thanks so much for you answer..
it really helped me.
well for the dye used on blonde hair i agree with you.. it doesn't make much sense..
unless (i'm just thinking this..) the laser gets to a part of the hair that is still visible outside the skin and therefore gets to the root anyway..
i mean perhaps the shaving shouldn't be done so close to the skin and eventually leave a bit of hair visible (that was turned to black).
anyway your views made me reconsider all the treatment, i might just go back to what i was doing. And definately will remove the blonde hair and wait to see if they are black again.
Thanks so much!!!!!
