First Timer!

Question
Well unfortunately God made me hairy, but fortunately one of my sister's work at a botox/laser clinic! I just got back from a consultation, and the doctor usually charges 350 per treatment (facial hair), I got each treatment for 175, and 4 overall treatments (4th treatment is free), then any treatment that is needed after those 4 is 50% off which would be 80 bucks for me (dont mean to brag im just so happy). I got facial hair on my neck, so I plan on taking all that out, my first treatment will be this upcoming monday. I can post a picture so yall can see all of what I pllan on taking out. Each treatment is taken once a month, and I will keep this updated after every treatment.
Im hispanic, not to dark and not to light, I have thick black hair.

Answer
for your skin and hair type, and especially since you're doing it on the face where hair is coarse, a Yag laser would probably be best for you and will results in the least redness and swelling after treatment.

Answer
Well I just came back from my first treatment. Unfortunately I didnt get the chance to ask the doctor what type of laser she was using, but they consider me fair skined. She told me I was the perfect candidate for the laser lol sence my hair was thick and dark. It stung a little bit more then a bee sting, the treatment went by very quick, around 10 minutes, it would have really and I mean REALLy hurt if I didnt use a cream that numb'd my neck. The doc said my first treatment was the most effective, hopefully everything is fine by the end of this week. My skin is fairly red and looks like I have razor bumbs all over my neck, but they gave me medication for that. Any questions?

Answer
it would be helpful for both us and you to find out exact machine that is being used and settings. just helps judge the progress and we can make suggestions if something can be done even better. now you just have to wait 2-3 weeks for shedding

Answer
I tell my clients that the first treatment is the most uncomfortable one. The reasons are: there are a lot more hair follicle for laser to destroy and the hair is coarser . As you go through the subsequent treatments the hair gets finer and finer and there are fewer and fewer hair follicles absorbing the laser.
So if you happily survived the first treatment without too much discomfort then the follow up treatments will be a breeze.
I must agree with blink888 that I probably would use a YAG on your skin. Good luck to you.......Excellase in Raleigh, NC

Answer
Yeah ill make sure to get the settings and everything next treatment (2/22), I was just so nervous and everything that it didnt cross my mind.
California, Santa Maria is where im getting these treatment's.

Answer
no, don't pluck. be patient and don't touch the hair. you can exfoliate in the shower and scrub gently with a loofa to help hair come out. you can also shave. you can't pull out hair that show resistance.

Answer
You don't know if any hairs were missed during your session, so don't pluck anything, anywhere.

Answer
Well I just got back from my 2nd treatment. For some reason it was still painful although about 80% wouldnt grow in from the first treatment. For my 1st treatment they used 60 j's, this time they used 70 j's. Im not sure what skin type they have me on, but im fairly light skinned. These laser treatments are amazing!

Answer
how long did you wait between treatments?

Answer
Its one treatment per month, im halfway done.
