5 laser sessions on bikini & underarms...my thoughts

Question
Ok so I hear that once regular posters here are finished with their laser, they stop posting. I figured I'd post now that I am finished the bulk of my treatments so I can share my thoughts on the process.
So ya, 5 treatments on bikini and underarms. I am going for my 6th session on Jan 30 and my tech said after that I should call her when I need to come in because I won't need to be on a schedule anymore.
First off, YES there are results. YES, I have way less hair than when I started. Note, I did not say I am hair-free. On average ppl need 5-8 sessions, or so they say, which means I am merely finished the least amount of sessions recommended. And I will be going for a 7th after my 6th on Jan 30, I'm sure.
The funny thing is that by the 5th session, you see hair grow back and get frustrated/depressed because you want to be BALD. When I kind of whined to my tech on the 5th session (she's cool, so it was OK), she was like "Are you crazy? Think of how much hair you had in the beginning! It was so much denser!" I am fair-skinned and my pubic hair is dark, but I don't have any hormone issues and am no hairier than the next girl. However...I CAN'T REMEMBER HOW MUCH HAIR I HAD!
That's the thing about laser...after every session the hair gets finer, but doesn't necessarily go away for good...the hair growth also gets less dense...but it's not like patch by patch, your hair just DISAPPEARS. You guys know what I mean? So hair keeps coming back and it makes you think it's not working, even though it is.
There are definitely some spots where hair is not growing back, though. For me, my underarms have seen better results than my bikini line so far and I am VERY PLEASED with underarms. But if I throw my arm up in front of the mirror and examine, there is hair coming in, for sure. Keep in mind I could still have 3 or 4 more sessions to go (or as many as I want until I'm satisfied, since I'm paying)!
It's also addictive. I like my tech and don't want to stop getting laser! It's an indulgence, and I'm definitely moving on to other areas.
The only other possible areas I could get would be my legs or the "full" version of bikini.
Legs are way too big for me to start on right now (and $$$ - I just can't handle dropping over $300 everytime I go in there and I certainly don't wanna drop a grand on a package).
I regret not getting full bikini (everything around a thong) because conventional bikini really doesn't get THAT much. I mean it literally gets what's exposed if you have a swimsuit on, but I'm really looking for more than that. I guess I'll go the backwards route and tell her I want more clearage!
But ya, that's it for now...I'll post again once I feel I can stop the sessions and see an electrologist for the random hair-removal.

Answer
hi, thanks for the update. can you mention again what laser they're using and at what settings they're treating you? thanks!

Answer
You are right about the subtlety of the hair reduction. After its been gone (during hairless periods), you get used to having no hair so when hair grows back, it seem like a lot. We forget about what it looked like before LHR. My suggestion is, for those who are considering it, to make a template out of a 3x5 card (or something as firm) and do hair counts in areas where you want to get LHR. My template was basically 1" square on a 3x5 card. I counted hairs in various areas in the areas that I wanted LHR and wrote down the counts. Now, I can say objectively about the substantial reduction that I have seen.
Yes, it is addictive. My original intent was getting a reduction in some areas. However, the more it appears "bald" the more I like it.

Answer
Ya, the template could work. Before/after shots would also help to determine the reduction in hair DENSITY.
And yes, I totally agree that after your hair free period, ANY hair growing in makes you mad! You want every session to be *THE* session where tada, it works and you're done, but it's totally not like that. I went into this knowing it wouldn't be like that, but it doesn't mean you don't hope that happens anyway!!
I'm between Type I and II, burn easily and most of the time. I am treated with an Alexandrite and I don't know what the settings are. I know that I shed after every single session and only ever have a few hairs that don't shed. If I have time, I'll go in for a free touch-up, and if I don't, well then I just wait until next session to let the tech know they were missed last time. I have gone up on settings obviously, and I remmeber my tech saying "Make sure you don't feel your skin getting overly warm or burning because I've raised the settings".

Answer
the big question is what will happen say after 6 months of your last treatment. how much how thick will come back.

Answer
Its been 10 months since my last leg treatment (which was either 6 or 7 as I lost track). There's been at least a 60% reduction and the treatments were done with the Aurora and a chain. The remaining hair has been much finer and lighter in color.

Answer
bbr what areas did you have done.

Answer
Legs, feet, bikini area, and happy trail.
