electrolysis vs laser

Question
hi
i've read a lot of the posts on here, and i know this has been discussed, but i guess i would like some more info. i'm a white male with dark hair who wants to remove back hair. every time that i get my back waxed they tell me i don't have a lot of hair. they even only charge for "half back" because of that. the darkest hair is on my shoulders and upper back, and it gets lighter as it goes further down. so i was curious to know if i should do laser or electrolysis?
i've read info from both forums and it seems as though electrolysis is the closest thing to "guaranteed". i know nothing is guaranteed to work, but it seems like with laser there's a lot of variables. i've actually had some laser done, but i stopped after a couple of treatments because at the time i didn't have a lot of extra money to throw around. so, it seems to me that if i'm going to spend the money, it might as well be on something that is more likely to work.
i'm posting this on the electrolysis forum because there was a previous post here that actually suggested that someone do laser instead of electrolysis because the back was such a large area. i know it's hard to tell without actually seeing how much hair i have, but i would like someone who does electrolysis to comment on this. would it be too costly to do electrolysis on my back? more so than laser?
thanks for your time!

Answer
Your best option is to find someone who can do both electrolysis and laser, or at least an electrologist who isn't dead set against laser. Even a half back is a lot of hair to do with electrolysis. I usually send men to start their back with laser, and then I catch whatever's left over. It's usually more cost efficient this way.

Answer
great, thanks for the information! it's very much appreciated

I heard that laser dosnt work most of the time and it can acually make more hair appear. Do you think that just spending the time and money on electrolysis would be more worth it?

Answer
I've read about laser not working or causing more growth, I've personally seen very little of it. And those that I did see that didn't have good results, went to laser techs that were not well trained. The clients that I send to colleagues with lasers (all are certified and well trained), have never complained to me about it not working. A few come in to me for touch ups on a few hairs or the light hairs that the laser won't touch, and I've seen first hand how well the laser works.
So for me, until I get a laser, I will continue to refer large areas with dark hair to electrologists that have been well trained in laser. I think I owe it to my clients to get them the best possible results.
