Question
Has anyone on here had any experience with this office. The two Dr's are Dr J Frank and Dr Richard Halford. I am considering HT and was just curious about these two surgeons.
Thanks

I recommend you avoid the big McTransplant franchise clinics, they do not use the latest methods. You will get better results and more personal attention if you look around for an independant clinic.
Make sure that the clinic uses stereomicroscopes to dissect the grafts (most places don't, they use jeweler's loops). The superior magnifying power of microscopes will allow closer trimming of the grafts, to get rid of exess tissue. Excess tissue leads to pluggy looking grafts, so make sure you know what you are getting. MHR does not use microscopes in most of their clinics, and any clinics who use them are recent adapters and will not have as much as experience with microscopes as you can get elsewhere.
What you want is a clinic that does 100% microscopically-dissected follicular unit grafts. Only about 20% of the doctors are using this approach, so be sure to research and ask LOTS of questions. This kind of graft is the most natural looking. Most clinics think that they can get away with larger grafts behind the hairline, so they will say 'Sure we use microscopically-dissected follicular unit grafts' (but they only use them in the hairline). Most clinics think that only the hairline needs to look natural. I think the whole head needs to look natural, how about you? Are you the type of person who always stays inside on windy days, never gets caught in the rain, never has a woman run her fingers through your hair, never has a hair out of place because of hairspray, etc? If so, then maybe it wouldn't matter so much (if you catch my drift).
Any clinic that is a franchise that advertises on TV will be the same story. The doctors who work there have lousy word-of-mouth and poor track records so they need to advertise in the mass media. The best doctors don't need to advertise in this way.
Make an effort to see as many former patients in person as possible (and not just the people working for the clinic... the main reason they work there is because their results are better than average). Find some average patients and inspect their hair closely. Try to find people with similar characteristics as you (similar amount of hair loss, similar type of hair, similar age etc).
Be careful, there are a lot of sub-par hair transplant doctors using older techniques, who will give you sub-par hair transplant results. Do lots of research and be a little skeptical. Seek out the best or you will probably regret it.
Hope that helps.

I had my procedure done one week ago by DR. J Frank. As far as the discomfort level is concerned, I had almost none. However I may have a higher tolerance for pain than others. So far things are looking good. Of course the main thing is a few months down the road when the hair actually starts to grow and take shape. The people in his office were very nice. They did everything they could to make me feel comfortable. If anyone is contemplating on having a procedure done and they live in the New York, New Jersey area, they should definitely schedule a consultation with this office.
Cheers and here's to a new life filled with hair!!
Answer
It's just for a consult. Should I still go for that or should I cancel. I'm glad I read this now before making a decision to have them do it.
I'm maybe a 2 but I hear that you can just get it filled in a little. I know they do it a lot in Hollywood.
BTW: This is my first time looking into this...
Answer
I am so enlightened now just reading these things. I'm so glad I found this website before comitting to Medical Hair Restoration. I guess I still might go for the consult? Is this an OK idea. I know now that they will not be performing the procedure...
Answer
I cannot speak for any other Dr. but J Frank. If you are in the area and are looking for a consultation I highly recommend his office. Unfortunately I do not know much about other Dr's in the MHR group.
