Answer
I am trying to look into this also since I am almost done with nursing school... I found this site (don't know if I can post a url but i'll try) ... the hand book has all the info in it. Basically you have to be 18, have at least one year experience in any surgical, nursing, dermatology office, or plastic surgery office, or spa .... plus, one of the following:
1. Certified Professional Electrologist
2. 4 year degree
3. Medically related degree in areas such as RN, CST, PA, Certified Aesthetician, etc.
4. 2 year AS degree and HS diploma AND substantial experience in laser safety/operation OR cosmetic health care services
Also, you must attend at least 5 hours of Laser Hair Removal course either at an institution or distance/ home learning.
To become certified, I think you have to take a 100 question exam (NCLE laser cert. exam)
I know my laser training would be in Columbus, since I'm in Ohio. The fee for me would be $695. I think it is a Friday-Saturday class. I think it is 16 hours and includes the exam ??
Hope this helps, hopefully it is all correct!! good luck

Answer
The laws very from state to state. Ohio was one of the first, if not the first state to make specific laws regarding laser hair removal.
There are a handful of schools. You want to get 30+ hours of training. The 2 most popular schools are in Denver, CO and Naples, FL. You can do a google search for them.
