Hair Removal with Aesthera PPx

Question
Perhaps, the previous post appeared to be an advertisement such as the motor oil one. So, in order to elicit a response from others who might know, I've reposted under a different thread heading.
So, this is what I recently read and wondered if anyone might have seen this and may have an educated opinion on it:
"How is unwanted hair removed?
A hygienic treatment tip gently draws the area to be treated into the handpiece of the Aesthera PPx system. This "pulling" up motion brings all the unwanted hair closer to the surface of the skin.
Light energy, when gently applied to the hair, is converted to heat energy and absorbed by the hair, quickly, painlessly and effectively destroying it.
How are PPx treatments for hair removal different from other laser and light based hair removal treatments available?
PPx therapy is the first and only therapy to effectively combine pneumatic energy (pressure) with broadband light. PPx therapy differs from other laser and light based treatments in that it is 5x more efficient in the delivery of energy to unwanted hair. This highly efficient delivery of energy allows PPx therapy to use a fraction of the energy that other treatments require, making treatments very gentle. PPx therapy is painless because energy is concentrated in hair to be destroyed, protecting the surrounding normal tissue. This also makes PPx therapy safer than other treatment modalities.
Treatments are relaxing and not associated with side effects such as the redness or other usual post treatment discomforts. PPx therapy is 4 to 7 times faster than treatments with other laser or light based technologies. It does not require pre-treatments with topical anesthetics or cooling gels, resulting in reducing treatment time by 35 - 45 minutes."

Answer
you're trying to reach the follicle with laser (or whatever you want to kill it with), so not really sure what this "pulling out" method would do besides just same thing as waxing..

Answer
If you google for this, there are several company-created "news releases" that describe the product. It appears to simply "thin the skin" by stretching it under a vacuum. This could then reduce the needed power to reach the follicle base (as it is closer to the surface). As they say:
"Photopneumatic Therapy uses a proprietary pneumatic sequence prior to applying light, temporarily thinning the treatment area to increase photon efficiency. Aesthera PPx is four to seven times faster than traditional laser and light-based treatments, making it an attractive alternative for busy physicians and their time-conscious patients. For example, full leg or whole back treatments can be performed in less than 20 minutes. "
Its an intriguing idea; I would like to hear from anyone who has used or seen the product....

Answer
Me, too.
If it works, that would be coooool!

Answer
Maybe it is awkward to reference the "other" forums, but I know that many of us cruise multiple boards. There is a posting on HairTell's LHR forum that addresses the same product, look for RJC2001's posting on his experience with the PPx Aesthera....

Answer
i don't think there is anything wrong with it. they're all open informational forums, the more information one can obtain to make better judgements, the better as far as I'm concerned. I browse all 3 as well.
