hi i just saw dis site n i thought dis is da rite place for me to get some info. I am a 15 year old pakistani girl...darkish skin and i have PCOS (polycyctic ovarian syndrome) i have hair all over my body....i dont really reveal my body execpt arms n face....i am not really concerened with my arms, but with my face i am.....people make fun of me sayin i have a beard n its really embarrasing because its dark n very thick hair..i would never tie back my hair......i wanted to noe if i did laser hair removal would me hair completely go away or will it come back as it usually does once i do da laser since i have hormone problems? i went to a laser clinic yesterday and the laser thing she is going to use is something called Alexandrite......is it good for me? and the price she is going to take is 150 dollars per treatment......will this be all right for me caz i am 15.....she said i have to be shaving for a month till my hair gets more coarse den come back to her.....till now i have been waxing......well what should i shave with, a blade or electric razor? please answer my questions....i am waiting urgently for ur replies.....thank u

How is your PCOS being treated?

well my endocrinologist gave me metformin to take 2 in the morning and 2 at night.......i am 5'5 and weigh 235 lbs..... i am obese currently.....i dont relli take da pills...i always 4get.....

Don't bother with laser hair removal treatments until you get serious about getting your PCOS under control. Until it's under control you will continue to grow new hair and it will be a constant and expensive battle to be hair free. Obesity is only one of the many health risks that are associated with PCOS. Your chances of heart disease, stroke and diabetes are higher than that of someone without PCOS. Also the longer it goes untreated, the more difficult it may be for you to conceive when you're ready. A parent or guardian should be monitoring your medication more closely.
