Getting hair into Anangen phase

Question
Hi
I have looked at a few places recently and found some places charge a set amount for up to 8 treatments for one particular area of the body. Other places I have gone to charge an amount per visit and give a discount if you purchase 4+ visits in one go.
So far the place charging for each individual individual visit seems to be of better value, even if I do require 8 visits. I was wondering though, is there a way to try and get as many hair follicals in an area into the Anagen phase of growth so that each sesssion I take is as effect as possible.
Does waxing or plucking a hair cause it to 'reset' its growth cycle and subsequently enter the Anangen phase within the following week or two? I thought if it were possible this may allow me to treat an area in 4 visits instead of 6-8 as I could prepare the area before the treatment so that as any hairs as possible were suspectible to the laser.
Any feedback would be good.
Thanks
BB

Answer
BB,
From what I understand plucking and waxing is the last thing you want to do. It strengthens your hair roots and makes it harder to treat with a laser. I believe the key is to allow enough time between visits to ensure that as much hair as possible is in that stage. I've seen some before and after pics of someone who had treatmens done at an interval of 2 wks vs. 6 wks on each underarm. The 2 wk interval showed almost no results after 5 treatments.
I've only been for 1 LHR treatment so far so I don't have a good idea of what the ideal interal should be but I think it would be different for each person. You want to make sure the treated hair has shed and that your next treatment is within a few weeks of new hair growth.
At least I think that's what I've read from other people's posts !
Good luck!

Answer
you can wax and then wait for the hair to grow out before you shave and go in for your first treatment. you have to make sure to wait long enough, at least 6 weeks after waxing though. I actually did that and had great results from the very first treatment.
treatments are usually spaced 6-8 weeks apart. to make sure hair is in anagen, you need to treat it within 3-4 weeks after it appears in most body parts that are commonly treated.

Answer
Blink, does waxing work on coarse hair... I've never had it done, but I wouldn't want to have to grow it out... can you get short hair waxed (i.e. stubble on chin)?

Answer
hair has to be at least 1/4 inch to get it wax. it's basically pulling out the hair with the root using wax. It can be done on any hair. It's a temporary method of hair removal. the hair comes back after about 5-6 weeks. so you will have to wait for that to happen. I don't really think you need to do this in your case on the chin. Just shave and go in for treatment. whichever hairs are growing back right away after you shave are the ones in anagen.
