Natural looking hair removal

Question
Hi
I am a male with light skin. I am looking to reduce the hair around my pubic region. I have had a consultation with one place that uses Laser Treatment and they told me that the hair that is treated totally dies and does not grow back (well in most cases does not grow back). As I don't want to become totally hairless, I would like any areas that I do have treated to look natural. The problem that I have is that if I have a particular region I want to treat and all hair in that region falls out, the untreated regions immediately adjacent to the treated area may look quite strange as there could be a rather abrupt difference in the amount of hair between them.
Is there a good solution blending the regions that have and have not been treated. I remember reading that with some technologies, the hairs grow back lighter than before rather than just not growing back at all. If this was possible I see it as a good way to make the hair reduction look more natural.
Can anyone provide any input on this?
Thanks
BB

Answer
you can't pick and choose and blend with laser. that is something electrolysis can achieve since hair is removed one by one.

Thanks for your reply.
I am quite certain I did read some information on some sort of hair removal process, was probably not laser but something similiar, that attacked the pigment in dark hairs. With each treatment, from what I understood, the amount of pigment in each hair was reduced so they became lighter and thinner as the process continued. Unlike laser, the process did not kill the hair, just reduced its colour.
If I am wrong about such a treatment can anybody suggest a good process by which to use a combination of laser and electrolysis. I was thinking possibly still treating the area I intended to with laser and then on the areas immediately adjacent to the laser treated areas have electrolysis done to blend the areas a bit.
On the other hand, if I am patient and wait a good amount of time between each laser treatment for the hairs to shed, it may be possible to achieve some type of blending with the laser. I thought maybe the person treating me may be able to strategically skip those areas closest to the untreated area on maybe every second treatment. This would mean that these skipped areas would have less effective hair removal and help blending.
Any comments?
Thanks

Answer
While, you can not pick or choose. Laser can offer a natural reduction. My experience is if all treated hair is treated in a particular area, you will see a fairly even reduction that looks natural. I have had 3 treatments done with a YAG laser, now this last treatment so far...I am about 4 and half weeks post third treatment has given me a substainial reduction. Whilst, the new growth has not come in. I would say I have had more reduction than I orginally wanted. After my second treatment my hair started to grow in around now, this has not happened yet. I am a little concerned I will have removed more hair than I orginally wanted. However, I am also skeptical give it two weeks that it will return. Either way, get your whole legs done, have 2 treatments see if your happy with the results. My opinion is, hair is hair. All people have it in varying amount some have it thicker some do not. Regardles, if you remove more than you wish...it doesnt really matter...its just hair!

you can have fewer than the full 6-8 treatments to reduce the density, so like 1-2 treatments. i wouldn't go into it thinking that you will get a consistent even reduction. be aware that that might not happen in all areas. some hair may come back, some may not. it's hard to tell as each person reacts differently to laser. also, some of it depends on how thoughrough the tech is etc. just be open to the fact that you might not get exactly what you're looking for. either way, you can always get 1-2 treatments and then continue to blend with electrolysis. all lasers target the dark pigment, which is hair, btw, against light skin. also, you might want to go with a Yag laser, which works well on coarse hair, but not as optimal for finer hair. in your case, it might be a good thing.

The skill of the tech is important, too. I had an area done about 9 months ago only one time. Shortly after the treatment, I could tell that there was a missed patch. To this day, the hair in the other areas is less dense and a little lighter in color than the missed area. So, what I am saying is that someone who is not very skilled could cause patchy areas.
(I've normally gone to places where technicians do the job. In this case, the tech was an RN. I realize that there are good RN's out there but certainly one doesn't need to be a doctor or an RN to do LHR)
Oh, get off that soap box, BRR!!!!

hi,
i had my full upper torso done in a sort of t-shirt style where the shoulders were only done to below the armpit. This was very noticeable where there was hair one minute and gone the next. As my butt was quite hairy too this also left an abrupt difference below the waist .
I had my butt and groin done about 4 times and my arms done twice. It now looks like more of a natural progression from one area to another and the abrupt change is not noticeable. I was hesitant about getting my butt done but it turned out great, i still have hair there but it is light and fine, the crack is almost completely clear. My pubic region grew back to what i would say is a normal amount of hair and again looks natural, i probably should have had a couple more on the groin but i stopped as it i thought it was almost all gone and i didn't want to be completely bald there.
I think the best way to blend one area to another is to have the adjacent area done a few times, the main area will probably have some regrowth anyway and so it should look natural,
