IPL vs. LightSheer Diode Laser

Question
I'm an Indian probably skin type IV with thick black hair. I've been doing a lot of research on hair removal and I can't seem to get a consensus on what's better laser or IPL? The laser place I'm looking into uses a LightSheer Diode laser which I think should work fine for me.
If anyone has any suggestions on which method would be better for me I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Answer
IPL is not a good option, especially for darker skin tones. The only one I would consider is Aurora because of RF technology and that would be only if I had pale skin and lighter in color hair, like brown or light brown. Otherwise, true lasers are best on you.
With your skin type, you can go with either Yag or LightSheer. Tech would need to be very experienced to use LightSheer on you and if he can't use more than 30 joules on you, I would do Yag instead.

Answer
Thanks! Maybe I'll ask for a patch test before I commit.

Answer
Great advice from Blink. Personally I'd recommend a 1064 Yag for your skin type. The Candela Gentleyag, the Cutera Coolglide, or another called the Cooltouch are good YAG lasers to check out! Good luck. Candela's site and Cutera's site both have physician locators so that you may find a facility near you with their respective products. or
