Question
Hello everyone. I am a newbie to this forum, but just trying to get all my Q's and A's about laser hair removal. I am 20 years old, and have always hated all of the hair on my body! I have black hair and it is very noticable on my face. I am looking for a place to go to in Las Vegas. Any suggestions? I went for a consulation at The Skin Institue, but wasn't sold. They said they use this LightSheer Diode laser and said it is the best. Does anyone know if this true? Or if there is more recent lasers which are better? I was also wondering what the average costs are? This place charges $573 for 3 treatments of the face. Would that be cheap or too expensive? Also, if you have had laser hair removal are you happy with it? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Answer
LightSheer is a good laser for light skin (up to type IV) with dark hair. If you're doing a full face, that is a good price. Laser works only on dark hair and best on coarse hair. If that's what you have, you should get good results provided the technician knows what they are doing and setting the settings correctly, in an optimal way for your skin and hair type. If you're a woman with a lot of hair on your face, you might want to get your hormones checked first to make sure there are no underlying causes for the growth that doesn't first have to be controlled with medication. Otherwise, you might remove the hair that's there, but your body will keep producing more hair.
