Question
Hi everyone. I just last night had my first hair removal treatment at a med spa in Chicago using a CoolGlide Laser. I got underarms and bikini done. This place was recommended by a friend of mine. It was virtually painless and my skin was barely red afterwards. It was tender for a few hours, but today, not much tenderness at all.
I'm wondering if it did anything. My friend said that it was surprising that it didn't hurt and it must be because they had the settings too low and that they'd probably raise them next time (which is in a month) and now I'm freaked out a bit. Should I be worried?
And how long before my hair starts falling out?
Thanks!

Answer
it takes 2-3 weeks for shedding to occur. make sure they're not undertreating you next time you go in and use max settings that won't burn your skin. Coolglide is a Yag laser btw and best for darker skin types. It should work fine on the areas you're getting done anyways if the right settings are used since they hair is usually coarse there. Laser works best on coarse hair in general.
If everything sheds just fine, you're fine.
