Question
I went in for my fourth treatment this evening. I want to get opinion what do you people think about how is it going.
F/up after 2 treatments:
G-2 improvement subjectively & objectively.
third time, the doctor wrote these things:
Laser parameters on cool glide:
10mm
1.5 HZ
35m sec
45 j/cm2
erythema mixed
perifollicular oedema nil
today he has written :
F/up after 3 treatments:
shaved only once during the treatment sessions.
subjective improvement = 60%
objective improvement is > 50%
mainly vellous ttype hair seen over cheeck, side burns etc.
acne imrovement > 75%
no more pustules.
today he had a consultaion with another doctor in the same field about treating me with either coolglide LPS type laser or Q-switched one. they both after discussion & examination decided that it should be Q-switched.
this is what he wrote for this treatment:
laser parameters on Q-switched Nd:YAG
-6mm
-3.3 j/cm2
-whitish grey discolouration, erythema +ve
my next visit is probably after 20th november because i will be out of country during this period.
so, what do you all think about this?? plz give your views & advice.
thanks.

Answer
well, it seems all is ok with the treatment & nothing to worry... thanks alot
Answer
seems fine. are you experiencing shedding?
Answer
well, so far the area is like after bleeching .. the hair have turned goldenish .... the doctor told me not to worry as the hair will turn golden in shade & will shed eventually ... so far they are there ... lets see what really happens later on.
Answer
how long has it been? laser doesn't turn hair another color. if you see light hair, it was probably always there, just not noticeable. and if you don't see any more dark hair, they have probably have shed if it's been past 2.5 weeks or so.
Answer
i had got my laser done on 14th .. it has not been 2 or 3 weeks. dont know .. but will see what happens. the area he treated the hair is like not black ..very fine light hair ..but not black... its goldenish but not like its so prominent because yu know on asian skinsgolden shade stands out very prominently.
will let you knwo what happens in the weeks to come.
Answer
are you saying that you have light fine hair that you are trying to get rid of with laser or that you have light hair left now after laser treatments AFTER the darker hair was shaved and treated?
Answer
well, this was my first time with the q-swtiched & overall fourth one. the doctor told me not to worry for the hair that are there still and this laser works diferently then the one being used for the other 3 sessions. he told me the area will turn greyish & the hair will shed then .. i think he meant that the hair will be discooloured or whatever. i have no idea about that .. the area he had doen laser to seems to be hair free but when i look closely in the mirror i find that there are hair ..very thin & seem not be not visible easily. i had jet black hair ... the area he had treated had the hair growth reduced & the hair was finer in texture.. very thin that usually but was still black as it would be because i am an asian with black hair. the only thing that confuses me is that the doctor told me the area he treated will turn greyish but it has .. what does that mean? has it not worked? do you think i should contact the doctor or wait and see till my next appointment??
Answer
I haven't heard of any lasers that turn your hair gray. that seems weird. Can you find out the exact model and brand of the laser? all IPLs and lasers work the same usually. the hair is shaved, then area treated, then the hair sheds within 3 weeks.
Answer
I don't understand why they are using a q-switched laser. They are not designed for hair removal. They are great for tattoo removal because they remove color!
Answer
hmm...maybe that's why it's turning the hair light instead of killing the roots. maybe we can look into it as a permanent bleaching method? haha
Answer
hi ... nice jokes ..well i thought the same way but could not do anythign for i was & still not in pakistan ... so i have no contact with the doctor. what light hair thing was that story then like 2 weeks back .. now like for 2-3 days i have strted to see hair coming out ... mostly near the chin area which was the major problem part .. side burns dont show any hair so far & there are hair visible in the upper lip area too. so, i guess it definately means that the area was not permanently bleach which had been the point of concern earlier.
the hair are lesser and finer in quality than before .. only upper lip ahir is kind of visible as like a light shade in that area ..otherwise ... im happy people cant see hair on my fce as they used to in the past .. specially i love my chin & side burn areas.
all comments and suggestions are appreciated ... even jokes
