Can you pluck rather than Razor prior to treatment ??

Question
Hi
Im male and had laser treatment to my neck and shoulders about 5 or so years ago and had average results for a couple of years but now I am back to plucking all the time to keep the hair growth AWAY!!!! Impossible !!!!!
I feel that the razoring that they did at the time of the laser treatment ended up causing the dark hair growth area to expand ...as in the blond hair growth area around the dark hair growth area was also razored and I feel that that has come back dark in the end making my total dark hair area much larger ,causing me much more pain, distress and anxiety !!!
Is it possible to pluck several weeks prior to laser treatment so that the hairs to be treated are at a short length and in a optimal growth spurt ...staying well away from stimulting the blond hairs as much as possible ?????
I am of skin type 3-4 ,not sure of type of laser that was used but had around 10 sessions
Hope there is an answer out there ...and what I have writen can be followed !!!
Regards

Personally, I would stay as far away from plucking as possible. I don't know about the shaving causing the hair to turn dark....all shaving does is cut the hair above the surface leaving it waith a blunt edge, thus making it feel rough and stubbly. Plucking, on the other hand, is removing hair below the surface, which will indeed cause the hair to become thick and dark (I speak from experience).
I'm sure more knowledgeable people will chime in here, but if it were me, I would not pluck.

Hi
So many questions and so few answers .
As for razoring it may just cut the top off but it takes the top off of all dark and light hair ,obviously .Will this cause further stimulation and hence cause the hair to darken ???
I go by my under chin neck area that I obviously razor a little as I shave my face .I only razor just above my adams apple and then pluck from there down because if I razored the whole area I would be sure to have a 5 o'clock shadow all the way down to ...my feet !!
So i pluck this area below the adams apple and it tends to have sparce black hairs but no 5o'clock shadow type look .
This is the area I had lasered a long time ago and am looking at getting it done again but definatly dont want to get the razoring done prior due to my past experaince .
Over time I have had to increase the plucking area to my shoulders too .I know that this is due to the small number of light hairs that I pull out when Im plucking the dark .....but as for razoring this area ?????NO WAY
A slight bit of paranoya with razoring but I know what I have had to endure since the razoring that acompanied my laser treatment .
I think we all know how our bodies react to particular situations and what our bodies are capable of........mine,... grows dark hair to razoring, plucking ,evn looking at it !!!!!!!!!!!I am like a hair machine !!!!!!Pity I cant make some money from this great ability !!!!!!!!!!

Well, the way I understand it, plucking causes the hair to thicken and darken (which I learned the hard way). I started waxing my upper lip and chin, and before I had done that, the hair was fine and blonde. After I messed with it, it turned dark and coarse, thus my reasons for getting LHR. Someone on here said the reason for the thickening and darkening is that once the hair is removed from the follicle, the body increases blood flow to it, stimulating hair growth in an attempt to repair itself. This leads to the growth of a coarse, dark hair.
As for your question about shaving causing further stimulation of hair and hence the darkening of hair, the answer is no, I do not think it does. I think shaving simply is cutting the hair above the surface and that does not affect the underlying follicle, which is responsible for the hair growth.
From what I understand, LHR should provide permanent damage to the follicle, and thus you shouldn't have had any regrowth in the area you had treated. I think it was LE who said a dead follicle is a dead follicle, and that is what LHR does - it kills the follicle. So it could be that your regrowth in the area you describe is coming from the plucking.
In all the information I have read and from my own consultation, it seems necessary to shave the area prior to treatment so the laser is flush with your skin, and not be attracted to so much hair growing outside the skin. I did not want to shave my face because that made me feel so....manly....but it was 100% worth it - I have only had one treatment so far and the only regret I have is not doing this years earlier.
Also, you really need to wait some time before ending the plucking and starting the treatments so that you can the most amount of treatable hair present for the laser to be attracted to.
I have rambled on enough now, but all I will say is that I am really against plucking because of my own personal experience, and I will never again mess with any hair on my body using that method of hair removal, other than for eyebrow maintenance. Good luck to you in making your decision, I know it is difficult.

A+ Silverstar!
Shaving will not and cannot change the structure of a hair.
Tweezing can, especially facial hair that is controlled by male hormones.
