Question
Any body had any experiences with this laser. If so what are your thoughts on it?
The reason I ask. Is I am currently having treatment. My skin is not dark but not fair. My hair is however dark. I seem to be getting excellent reduction. There is alot of talk that a YAG laser is not good on light skin...I would have to disagree.
I am not looking for complete removal just adaquate reduction. I'd like to hear others experiences with it and results from it.

Answer
As long as your tech is well trained on the laser, you will have good results. I would choose a well trained tech with a YAG over someone with only manufacturer's training on an alexandrite or diode anytime!
Answer
the only difference is usually the experience of the tech. a good tech can give you results with any of these lasers. they just need to know how to manipulate settings best for your skin and hair type. the only downside of the Yag I would say is treating very fine hair with it. The settings max out usually before they're high enough to get those hairs. You shouldn't have any issues with a Yag on coarse hair, whether you are light or darker.
Answer
Yeah, I believe my tech is extremely good. She is extremely detailed and i believe it shows in the results. I guess time will tell just how well it works for me.
Would you recommend after im happy with the reduction seeking another laser to get the finer hairs?
Answer
if you're light skinned, type I or II, you can try alexandrite or diode at high flunces. that should get pretty good results, but reducing the spot size and increasing the power (at least 35 joules on Lightsheer for example and 30 on GentleLASE) is important as well as the tech and if your skin can handle it of course.
Answer
I would say i am probably skin type 2 or 3. I'm probably somewhere in between. Do you think i should stick to the coolglide with the finer hairs.. I have finer hairs on my shoulders and back I am thinking of getting removed. They are not noticeable at a distance but if you are quiet close up you could see them. They are of a dark color but not dark and corse....
Thoughts? And has anyone had any success with treating backs and shoulders. I keep hearing negative experiences!
Answer
Coolglide will most likely not work on those fine hairs. Even an alexandrite or a diode will take some expertise on the tech's part to get and high settings. Try a spot test at high settings with either an alex or a diode. If you see results, then go with that. Type 2-3 should be fine for these lasers. Once again, Coolglide will most likely be a waste of money for those if they're fine enough that you can't see them unless you're really close.
Answer
Yeah, thats wat I was thinking blink. I may just opt for electrolysis on those areas. Thankfully it is not the entire back or shoulders. Just certain patches. Im only young so that could change.
But If I start now, I have a head start!
