Ok i'm frustrated with electrolysis. I've had like 6 treatments so far to my upper lip. However the hair is NOT GOING AWAY! On top of that, now I have this chronic black line on my upper lip from all the scarring, so it looks like i have a permanent mustache. my electrologist is saying she is using high setting to kill the hair b/c it was very thick. But the high settings have caused scars. What is the average number of treatments it takes to get rid of upper lip hair?

Depends on the number of hairs per square inch, how deep and coarse they are, what you did to remove the hairs before electrolysis and what your pain tolerance levels are like. I can usually have the upper lip cleared after 6-10 treatments, thereafter, we go into the maintenance phase and clear as needed until permanence takes hold, which is somewhere between 9-12 months.
I don't like what I'm hearing. Have you interviewed and tried other electrologists in your area? I would strongly urge you to do so.
