Question
I'm thrilled to report that I have had astounding results from my laser hair removal.
My first treatment was July 30, 30J, chin and neck. I was miserable for about 2 weeks - ouchy, bumpy, itchy, pus-filled spots - I felt like a piece of burnt popcorn. It was worse than when I went in to begin with; I was sure I had made the biggest mistake of my life. The razor wasn't making things better - it was like it couldn't reach the hair as it was like buried right under my skin so you could see the stubble, but couldn't really feel it. It looked horrid! I kept washing the area with my fingers as the tech had suggested and then I decided to give my face a good scrub and ta da! it was gone, gone, gone!
By the time my 2nd appt rolled around, I had a patch of hair on my chin, consisting of maybe 5 hairs. Nothing compared to the original area. He did 30J's again - still took my breath away with pain. But I notice that my neck is more bumpy than last time, but no biggie.
The only thing I noticed is that THIS time the tech had me relax for 15-20 minutes after the procedure with a cold pak on, while last time, no ice down. It made a huge difference for me.
I think my tech is a bit of arrogant know-it-all - claims he's going to "medical school" but then when you question him about time involved, medical schools and such, it turns out he's going to a "Chinese" school of herbs, alternative treatments, etc. I don't have a problem with that in general, but I do not like that he makes it sound likes he's going to a medical school, and he'll by able to diagnose diseases when he's finished in a year or so.
Will I go back to have other parts of my body done? NO! Not that I'm not happy with the results, but maybe I'm a weenie, but I can't handle the pain. (BTW, I did natural child birth, no drugs, almost 8 lb. girl - but I'm not sure I'd do that again, either!!!)

Answer
Thanks for the update. Just wanted to point out that you will probably need more treatments as you will see dormant hairs resurface in a few weeks. Hair grows in 3 phases, so at any point in time, about 66% of it is dormant. That's why most people need 4-8 treatments to get all hairs.
Btw, what laser was used on you? What's your skin and hair type?
I'm glad LHR is working out for you. Keep us posted.
