my LightSheer diary

Question
First and foremost, thanks to all who posted their diaries here, heres another one.
I would like to start by pointing out the differences between the GentleLase and the LightSheer laser. I used the LightSheer and fairly early on realized that the LS is a bit slower and is a bigger hassle. That said, its supposed to be the better of the two. The GL is very easy to use and the tech just presses it up against you and boom, its done. This laser also seems to be much better at overlapping areas, so you will get 'more?' of a result the first time. By contrast the LS needs gel to be moved smoothly down your body and it doesn't over lap, so you will most likely get a bit more of a 'spot' treatment.
I am a skin type II with dark hair, everyone basically says that i am an ideal subject.
As i said, i had the LS laser and I did the back, shoulders, neck, sides and part of the arms.
The tech did a few tests first going from 22 up to 30 joules and for now we settled on 24 and 30ms. Surprisingly, i think i felt less pain on 30 than i did at 24. On 24 i felt pain, but it wasn't too bad. It really became a problem only because of the vast area that was being covered. After a while i started to feel my nerves start going and thats when the level of pain shoots up. Just remember, no pain, no gain. After the session the tech told me to try and ice the treated area as much as possible for the next couple of days and to stay out of the sun and to avoid any such activities that could aggravate the skin. After the session my skin looked like i was attacked by angry swarm of bees.
At home I had these sealed plastic ice trays that are are good for throwing in a cooler or what not, so i took out a few of the slimmer ones and sat in a chain with them pressed against my back. The most of the redness went away on the next day, i would say 24 hours after the treatment. The areas that were shot with the laser however, stayed red for now. These looked like small spots on a leopard, except that they where arranged in lines.
Thats all for now, i will keep this diary updated every so often.

***EDIT*** I did say GentleLase in the topic, how stupid of me, thats what you get for trying to write it when your tired. If your read my post then you know that I to say LightSheer.
ahem .. on with the show.
Ok, 2 months later and its time for one more treatment. This one was soooo much less painful and time consuming that it made the first one look like a biblical ordeal. I had the fresh hairs comming up and zapping them was a lot easier and less painful.
Over all, i was fairly happy with the first sessions, i was not hairless after it, but there was a sort of semi-hairlessness.
As a mentioned earlier, some of the spots where missed, but as i was told that thats partly due to the shape of the body and the fear of overlapping (the whole back is a BIG area). So i talked to my tech and we agreed that it made sense for me to come back a couple of weeks later and we would treat the areas that we missed (an idea 'borrowed' from a very good spa in Manhatten)
Last time, I had a VERY stiff back for a day and a half, this time, 12hours after the treatment, i felt fairly good, and nowhere near as bad as i did before. I followed the same patter as before in terms of cooling my back. I sat in a chair in a T-shirt with ice packs pressed up against my back, and I did that for two days. It is still too early to take a nice and hot shower (2 days later) but I think that by the weekend, i should be fine.
All that said. I was still painful, but, at the same time, it was much easier to bear.
