My Laser Story

Question
Hi everyone
Today I had my first session to remove the hair on my legs. I went to Lynda Christine, who was recommended to me by fellow board members here.
The whole treatment lasted 90 min. she used the light sheer on me ranging from 20-25 J. overall i found it to be tolerable. sorta like having each hair plucked out of me. the redness has eased down and all i have is light red spots around each follicle.
My next appointment with her is in six weeks. She said that since i am an ideal candidate(very course hair and light skin) i should definetly see results by my nest session with her.
I am very optimistic. I just have to wait for the shedding to take place. Lets all cross our fingers and hope for the best. I will write back once i notice shedding.
Thanks to all on this board for posting their stories.

Answer
LightSheer settings go up to 45-50, so if you have very light skin, you might want to discuss trying to up the settings with her on your next treatment.

Answer
hi board
its almost two weeks since i had my laser done on my legs. i have noticed that there is delayed growing of hair, but that i can gently grasp the hairs and gently tug and they come out with no resistance. i take this as a good sign. i will continue scubbing in an attempt to have as much hairs fall out as possible. i will keep you posted

Answer
Blink,
So what do you think the Light Sheer settings are supposed to be for type 2-3? I go to the same tech and she uses the same settings on me?

Answer
you really just need to test your skin to see how high you can go. it's hard to tell just like that. have them increase the settings by a few joules and see how you skin takes it. you can also have a few test spots at 25, 30, and 35 joules and see which works best. if 35 joules doesn't cause any burns, go with that for following treatments.

Answer
Ok I had my second session last thursday. My tech used 24 Joule on me with the lightsheer. Overall i found it slightly more tolerable then the first time. Overall i have seen a significant change in my hair growth. less thick and sparser. I havent started shedding from my second session yet. I suspect it will occur within the next week or so. I am feeling confident that after my next few sessions i should see a 80 -90 percent reduction. Iwill write back once shedding occurs

Answer
if you are light-skinned, you should be able to go for 35-40 joules. don't be afraid to ask for higher settings. you will get better results especially as the hair gets finer and more sparse, and thus harder to get. good luck.
