Answer
I agree Pamela. I've yet to personally know of someone whose facial hair became worse after laser treatments. I've had plenty that didn't think it worked, and that's largely due to the technicians not explaining the process, but no one has ever complained to me that it was worse.

Answer
Thanks, LE. I cant wait until my next visit. They have me going every 4 weeks. I KNOW that I'm going to be addicted to this, and thats not good!

Answer
4 weeks is a bit too early, as shedding usually takes up to 3 and then you should have a hairfree period until new hair comes in. for most people, that's 6 weeks time period between treatments on the face. i would advise you to go in next when you see new hair start to come in so you don't waste money on treating the area when there is nothing there to be treated. good luck and keep us posted.

Answer
Ya, wouldn't make sense to go in after 4 simply because they told you to, if you really don't have any hair to get zapped. I hear a lot of facial LHR patients get treated at 5 wk intervals. Maybe that extra week makes the difference?
LE, I've never had facial LHR, but what do you mean you haven't heard of anyone claiming their facial hair growth got worse after laser?! I think I started to wonder about it after the 10th topic on this forum, claiming increased hair growth. I started searching around on the net and found (and subsequently posted) scientific tests performed by doctors that documented increased growth in some patients receiving facial LHR treatments.
I definitely don't think it happens to everyone, and wouldn't want to speculate and say it occurs in half of all patients, but it DEFINITELY can occur. It's not like getting your bikini or underarms lasered, for example. It's definitely more of a risk, and experiments, as well as personal accounts, can vouch for the validity of that claim.

Answer
No, Canuckette, I'm not saying I haven't of it. What I said was that I haven't personally known someone that has had that experience. I have of increased facial hair from LHR, but only on the internet. After people have had unsatisfying laser treatments, many go see an electrologist. I haven't personally seen it on anyone, I have asked colleagues that do laser, they've never seen it, and it's never been discussed at any workshop or seminar I've been to. The only increased growth I've ever seen or heard discussed at the seminars and workshops is men's upper arms.

Answer
I believe she's talking about personal accounts of patients she is treating with electrolysis after laser

Answer
I know on these posts a lot of people say 4 months is too early. when i go in next week ill ask my dr if he thinks i should wait longer next time. But i seem to have new hair, and a lot has already fallen out. So who knows. And my Dr. said that if after the 5th teatment ( i paid for 5) if i still have random hairs, i can get them zaped for free. so that makes me feel better too.

Answer
how many weeks has it been? you should wait 3 weeks at first for all hair to shed. maybe some of the hair that you see hasn't shed yet? whatever doesn't shed, was missd during the treatment. if that's the case, let your tech know so that he can be more careful next time to get all the hairs.

Answer
It will be 3 weeks on monday, and only a few came back and are stuck on me. And i dont have a tech, i have a dr.

Answer
sharon - you say they are using Gentle Yag for your light skin and dark hair? You would be much better served using a GentleLase, it's a more appropriate wavelength.

Answer
dont realy know much about it she asked me if i burn before i tan i said yes and i do get tan after, then she looked at my thick black faical chin hairs and used the yag.it burned and she said my hairs were poping out at her while she was doing it.she stoped and put cream on my face then she finished it up.and my chin still hurts and i do still see hairs.
