Dr. vs franchise

Question
I have decided to get laser on my upper lip, I spoke with my dermatologist who does a lot of cosemetic work. ( he has done botox for me for years ) he said it would probably take about 3 treatments and they cost about $250 each. I have also contacted a local franchise laser hair removal business and they $555 for a 5 visit "package".
Any thoughts on dr vs franchise?

Answer
I would look around and have a few more consultatations. $250 per treatment for such a small area seems like a lot. You can also try bargaining by showing him other quotes you have gotten. He might go down in price if he wants your business. The most important thing you should be looking for is experience of the tech who will be performing the treatment. Whether they are a doctor or not is not as important as many doctors are not experts in hair removal..it is not taught in med school. Find someone who is experienced specifically in hair removal, laser or electrolysis. Someone who does both electrolysis and laser is best. Do a lot of research and ask questions at the consultations to make sure they know what they are doing. Experience of the tech is what will ultimately achieve you good results. In addition, you need to determine what laser is best for your skin and hair type and make sure the tech is using the right one for you.
