long term effects, pricing, and timing

Question
hi everyone, I have a few questions.
1) I am wondering if anyone knows a good website where studies have been conducted for long term effects of laser treatments?
2) I have checked the company I am performing the lasers with at the Better Business Bureau and there were no complaints. Are there any other places to check for complaints?
3) I am getting married in St. Lucia in the Caribbean Oct. 2-10. Should I wait until after my wedding? I am doing an all-over body treatment.
4) One last thing, does anyone know. I am spending 6500 dollars for the all-over body treatments and they say it includes as many visits as it takes to remove the hair. Does that sound like a lot? I read other posts that said the prices range from 250-400, but I am not sure what type of tretment that was for, and mine will include everywhere I want to have hair removed.
Thanks for any help!

Answer
1. consumer beware and hair facts websites have some links, but there just isn't a lot of information on this yet. lasers have been used for hair removal for less than 10 years.
2. do a search on this and other forums for this specific clinic to see if there are any reviews from others. also, do a search for your city to see if there are other recommended places in your area. in general, make sure to have several consultations before committing to one place. what type of laser are they using and is it best for your skin and hair type? how much experience do they have? who will be performing the treatments on you?
3. once you begin your treatments, you need to stay away from the sun to make sure your skin is as light as possible to achieve the best results. there shouldn't be any side effects other than that, so it shouldn't intervene with your wedding plans. just make sure you don't tan there since you will need treatments spaced 6-10 weeks apart. either way, after each treatments, it will take 2-3 weeks for the hair to shed, and then you should be hairfree for a few weeks, so if you plan well, you might be somewhat hairfree for the wedding.
4. $250-400 is a price per treatment on such large area as a man's back for example. Same goes for chest. You can try to calculate how much you would be spending otherwise. I am kinda concerned about the fact that they say they would do treatments forever until the hair is gone since laser doesn't work on everyone and most don't achieve 100% removal. My concern would be that this clinic could be out of business before you can finish your 8 required treatments, let alone be around forever.
