Question
Thanks for the replies to my previous questions.
According to one reply, I shouldn't feel ANY heat. If this is true then I have definitely had my last treatment with Lightsheer. I will make arrangements to have future treatments performed with YAG.
Status: It has been 2 days now since my first treatment.
Is any YAG laser ok, or are there better brands?
Is my face reacting as it should? Still some mild heat, redness, and numerous little white bumps all over face, mostly chin and neck (which is where she used the highest setting of 20).
Any additional info welcome. Thanks.
Brian, R.N.
P.S. Big Thanks to blink888, who responds to many posts.

Answer
Yag is not a brand, it's a type (like diode or alexandrite). There are various manufacturers who make this type of laser that caters to darker skin types. Some Yag lasers you will see often are GentleYag, Coolglide, Apogee, Lyra, etc. Either way, wait 2-3 weeks to see if the hair sheds, but I recommend you switch lasers. Those settings were way to low to get any long-lasting results and if they turn them up, you will get burns.
Yag lasers are made for dark skins. They are good in good hands, just like LightSheer that was used on you. Experience of the tech is most important in all cases. Coarse hair will get treated best and fastest. Redness should go away within 2 days at most, otherwise let your tech know so that they can recommend a soothing cream etc. I use aloe vera either way after treatments to feed the skin a bit. White bumps are ok, they will go away.
Thanks and you're welcome. I try to help

Thank you for the reply. I do appreciate the info. I have decided, without difficulty, to switch to the YAG laser. The most bothersome side effect right now is the dry skin & white bumps on my face. Hopefully this will go away soon, because I normally have great skin (no bumps, lumps or scars, etc.). Thanks again.

I am being treated with alexandrite. I have had 5 treatments on my upper lip, and four on my chin. My chin feels warm to the touch for 2 to 3 days after treatment. I have never blistered or burned. I do get the white bumps, they are normal.
