Just an FYI-
I have been writing my experiences with the lightsheer in a post called "My diary of treatments."
The highest setting used on me was 50joules.

GentleLASE settings vary from 14-30 joules or so and LightSheer 25-45 joules on average. spot size also matters.

i also wondering about the bumpiness? im pressuming that each bump is the spot where the laser hit so thats the most affected area? if so, shouldn't the area look like its been stung by 1000 bees? Im also pressuming that the surrounding areas are not affected (which is why they say you need multiple treatments)
also, Lightsheer and Gentlelase dont overlap i guess.
when i spoke to a Gentlelase tech he said that they try to not over lap at all, which tells me that there will be some untreated areas after the first time, is this right?

That's interesting. I wonder what the reasoning is behind not overlapping. It seems to me that they would want to do that so as to not miss anything.
Sorry, can't answer anything about bumps. I've not experience any bumpiness. The after effects, for me, was redness. In particular, the redness around the follicles, which is a good thing.

what do you mean by "overlap"? different settings are used on different lasers. not everyone experiences bumpiness and not all treated follicles will have that effect.

Both lasers, the LightSheer and GentleLase should be over lapped, just enough so that there aren't missed hairs. Too much over lapping can over treat an area, but too little is sloppy work.

I am having laser done on my sideburns, chin, and upper lip using the GentleLASE. Thus far I have had 2 treatments done - the first one using 30 joules, 15 spot size and second 25 joules, 15 spot size (the reason for the decrease is I had a bit of a tan on my face).. I have had very good results thus far and it has been about 3 1/2 months since my first treatment and I have virtually no hair on my sideburns, A LOT less hair on my chin and only a few on my upper lip. I found my first treatment to be more uncomfortable then my second which is probably because of the decrease in the settings and less hair. It takes about 1 week for my hair to begin to shed and by the second week all the hair is pretty much all gone.
