Nd:YAG laser, is it any good

Question
I'm planning on having the hair on my back and shoulders lasered off. I'm of Indian descent so I'm guessing I'll have to use the Nd:YAG laser, however I've read that this laser is not very effective, is this true? Is there any other alternative? I'm not very dark.

Answer
Yag is a type of laser. There are many lasers of this type made by various manufacturers. This is the only TYPE of laser that should be used on your skin type if you don't want skin burns, hyperpigmentation or lack of any results. Yag is a perfectly good laser in the right hands, as with all lasers actually.

Answer
Do you think it will roughly have the same potency on my skin that a diode laser has on caucasion skin?

Answer
Yag takes more treatments to achieve results, but for you that's the only option if you don't want to end up with ugly scars, burns, and pigmentation. Unfortunately, the technology allows BEST results for light skin and dark hair, but a good tech can get you great results with a Yag.
