NEED SUGGESTIONS PLEASEEEEE!

Question
I am new at this, and I am just now looking into it <laser hair removal>. I want to get laser hair removal for my bikini/brazilian style area (I am not sure what that would be called). I am pale that slightly tans in the sun (I burn terrible! then tan a little). The hair on the top of my head is natural blonde, but the hair "down there" is blonde <on my labia>, and then light-medium brown as the hairs going up. I usually use electric clippers/shaver, but I have gotten 2 ingrown hairs <OUCH!>, and I want to find a way to NOT get any of those again. I am 33, so my hair is not grey/blonde....it is more of a sandy/light blonde (on my head). I am really wanting to get rid of the hair completely because I am just uncomfortable when I have hair (constantly have to change sitting positions, feeling as if I can't wipe enough when I go to the bathroom, etc.) My hair is not thick, but of course a little coarse because it is pubic hair. Does it sound like I would have a problem with the laser, or if there is a certain type I should look for? I am in north central Indiana, is there anywhere you can recomend that does a good job?

Answer
Are you sure your hair is dark enough to absorb the laser's light? Remember it is absorbed by pigment, so the more you have, the better it works.
Just ask for brazilian bikini. I'm not sure what suggestions you're looking for. I can't recommend a clinic in Indiana because I'm in Canada.
Expect to pay maybe $150 a session and need 5-8 sessions.

Answer
Laser works by being attracted to the dark pigment. The darker your hair and the ligher your skin, the better results. If your hair is actually blond, laser will most likely not affect it. There are some lasers out there with RF technology like Comet or Aurora that claim to target lighter hairs, but I haven't seen anyone say that they actually got results with it. If you hair is somewhat brown, you might want to try one treatment with either an alexandrite or a diode laser at high settings and see if you experience any shedding. that's how you would tell if it is working. if you don't, electrolysis is your only option for permanent hair removal.
brazilian costs about $150-250 per treatment, depending on the location etc. you will discuss with the tech exactly how much you want removed and you will need to shave that part of before treatment.

The hair on my labia are pretty light blonde (I really looked lastnight). As you go up, and on the sides, it gets darker. But there are still light blonde hairs here and there. I know now that the laser is really not an option for me The reason why I wanted to get this done is because I have gotten 2 ingrown hairs on my inner labia, and that is VERY hurtful. Can anyone give me suggestions of how to avoid the ingrown hairs sence laser is not an option PLEASEEEEE????

Answer
electrolysis is an option. there is also a product that can be used for ingrowns. if you read the electrolysis forum, you can find out more about it.

Answer
Well J, it sounds like laser won't work on the light blonde hairs.
The good news is that the light brown/dark blonde hairs are definately treatable with a strong diode laser.
Perhaps, as mentioned, you could get electrolosis on the light hairs and simply buy an in-home laser treatment system for the darker ones.
You can also find creams at the store that help with ingrown hairs. That should help alot. I haven't ever really tried any of those creams but I've hear that they work well.
I HAVE however tried this one diode laser system that you can safely use in your own home. I have light blond hair and it worked for me! If there any light straglers you could easily shave them. I'm just certain that laser would make managing the light hairs sooo much easier. Not to mention save you HUNDREDS on Electrolosis! The typical cost of one Electrolosis session for brazilian as mentioned is about $200. This system should sell for about Here's a link for one of the laser treatments-

I think all of us would appreciate it if you stop advertising your eBay listings here. This is an informational forum on professional laser hair removal and I'm sure everyone seeking information here would appreciate if you kept the ads to yourself. If you want to chime in and help out with answering specific professional laser treatment related questions to educate consumers, feel free to do that. otherwise, you should pay for advertisement on commercial websites like other business owners do. and no, no laser treatment will treat light blond hair, even your 'magic' machine.
