Interval between treatments - 4 weeks too soon?

Question
hi all
I recently went for a consultation and the lady (who seemed quite knowledgeable) suggested treatments (for my back and shoulders) every 4 weeks apart. To be exact she said 4, 4, 4, 5, 6, 6 weeks for the 6 treatments resulting a guarantted 50% effetiveness (brown skin with coarse black hair). She is using a Coolglide YAG 1064.
Now everywhere I read suggests a minimum of 6-8 weeks interval between treatments to be the most effective. Does she know what she's talking about? Or am i getting scammed so she can get more treatments in. Please help.
thanks

I've only ever heard of facial hair being treated as often as 4 wks apart. Something to do with diff/more rapid growth cycles on your face or something.
I am female, but I'm having parts of my body lasered and I had I think 5.5 wks between my first and second treatments, and then it was 6, now it's something like 6.5 or 7, since it takes longer and longer for re-growth to occur.
Thing is, the tech can SAY 4 wks, but if after 4 wks you have no re-growth, what is she gonna zap? If the only drawback to this tech and the consultation is that she seemed to want to schedule your appointments close together, why don't you mention it to her? Ask her what you should do if, in 4 wks, you don't have enough re-growth to laser?
If she's flexible about re-scheduling the app if you have no hair, then you don't have to worry.

Answer
as a general rule the anagen phase(the growing phase of the hair which is the phase you want to target for successful hair reduction) is 4 weeks above the neck, and 6 weeks below the neck
to be more precise
the face-4 weeks
bikini line--4-6 weeks
legs--6to 8 weeks
back--6 to 8 weeks
arms/underarms--4-6 weeks
so for instance--if you do your back every 4 weeks your growing hair will not have reached the anagen phase and therefore you won't target as many hairs
hope this helpsl

Answer
everyone is different, so don't go by the tech's schedule. you won't know how soon you personally will be getting regrowth until you do it. just schedule your following treatment whenever you see a bunch of new hair come in. that's the best way to do it. don't let them trick you into getting a treatment when no hair is showing. that's a waste of money. anagen stage lasts for 3-8 weeks depending on the body part, so you will be fine if you go within 2 weeks of when a new batch of hair comes in.
