Physically and Emotionally burned/scarred

Question
This is my first post, so I hope I do this right.
I have had 8 sucessful hair laser treatments to bikini/perianal area for over a year, until last week. This was extremely painful even with the numbing cream. The tech had to keep stopping to let me breathe. I was pulling at my shirt and at one point grabbed her hand! She said that I didn't put on enough cream or it was bad and not potent enough. Well, the drive home was terrible! By the time I got home my perianal area was on fire! I jumped in the tub of cold water for an hour until in finally subsided. I figured I was just being a baby..... A few days later I noticed blood on panites and a terrible odor. I got out the mirror and looked at my privates and was horrified! I saw my doctor the next day and she prescribed silvadine (sp?) I have to apply 4X's a day. There are 9 visible burns where there is no skin. It will be difficult to keep clean and dry but should heal ok. I coulnd't stop crying for days. I feel vicitimized. I don't do much for myself, I am a working mom who has a huband who travels extensivley. I decided to do this for myself, it's kind of my own little secret. It's supposed to make me feel better about myself. Well, here I trust someone to perform a procedure in a VERY delicate area and now I had to go spread my butt for my doctor and have to every day to apply cream. I want to take legal action but heard it will difficult due to recent malpractice law changes. Any advice? I have taken pcitures. At the very least I deserve to have my $2000.00 back.

Answer
wow that is horrible!!! keep us posted on what you do. What kind of place is it? are they techs or dr.s doing to for you. why was it worse the last time!!!

Answer
They are one of the fastest growing laser hair removal co's in the US, hoping to open 50 new offices. They started in Tampa FL, and have since opened others in nearby cities. The people performing the procedures ar nurse practitioners. I'm not sure why it was so bad, I think she used too high of settings. She blamed the me for not putting enough cream on, but I did it correctly the previous eight times!

Answer
The cream has nothing to do with you being burned. Even without cream, the pain should not have been unbearable. Don't expect to get your money back for all the treatments. I'm not sure what franchise you went to, but I do know that one in my area gave a partial refund to one of my clients who wasn't burned, but had an allergic reaction. I would call and ask to speak to their supervising physician. I think you should be reimbursed any expenses you had to pay your doctor or for the prescription that your insurance didn't cover. As embarrassing as it is, I advise you to take pictures.

Answer
did you expose any part of the area to sun? if not, it happened because she used too high of settings on you. since they did this 8 times before without problems, they should have known what settings your skin could take. numbing cream is for the pain only, burns are not caused by putting more or less of it.

Answer
I have not exposed my genitals to the sun! It is "where the sun don't shine" Just kidding....but seriously I do not go in the sun, I live in FL and it is too hot to lay out in the sun, I am very pale with dark brown hair. I know that the numbing cream has nothing to do with the burns, it just ges to show that the tech was trying to pull one over on me. I am in the process of lodging a complaint with the Florida dept of health.
