hello... I'm new to this forum but I am only 16 and I have lost a very significant amount of hair... its getting very thin and I'm very worried... it really really bothers me... at 16 I'm sure you can imagine... my father endured the same thing and was bald at around 19... I'm currently using saw palmetto and rogaine.. I've been using rogaine for about 3 weeks now but have heard some bad things about it.... I'm interested in trying procerin... I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for me.. please it would meen alot.. thanx

Hi there Gateo i have had 2 transplants now.Im a 30 year old male but started to go bald early to,but not as young as yourself. Rogaine doesnt really have any bad side effects.I have being using it for a while now.It can cause your scalp to itch and flake i noticed but.If you are thinning now i would consider seeing you doctor and getting there advice on yourself taking Propecia which will maintain your exsisting hair.Is it MPB that you have? Gateo that depends on the surgeon and how mnay grafts you require.Surgeons can charge from $4 a graft up to $8.As the old saying goes you get what you pay for!

You can find some good info on transplants on but I think that you might be too young for that.

There is some good inforamtion on that website i agree.I also think your way to young at 16 to even consider a transplant it would be foolish in my opinion.

If you don't want to get a hair transplant, well actually you shouldn't since your soo young. You should use Nioxin. It's like a shampoo and a scalp treatment. You have to buy the cleaner and the scalp treatment, it's like two bottles. You can buy it at most cosmetic stores. The one thing that helps most is the scalp treatment bottle it says like bionutrient "treatmen" on it. I have been using it for like last 8 months, and I have to say less hairs are falling out. I am just using this until I have enough money saved up to get a hair transplant. I also have quite a bit of body hair, so this combo really sucks. I also plan to buy a laser. So I'll be saving for sometime to get both done. Well good luck with all that

I would recommend that you get on Propecia to start with as this will maintain the current hair you do have.A HT at your age is way to young in my opinion.
