Answer
If you are light-skinned, both the diode and the alexandrite are equally effective. The only difference I've heard is that the alexandrite is less painful than the diode.

Answer
i have had both test patches done, and have found the GantleLase to be more affective. I will wait one mroe week (since they were done 1 week apart) for the final results.
GentleLase was affective after 2-3 weeks, the Lighsheer has not been as affective after 3 weeks now.

Answer
Lightsheer should work well. maybe the tech used too low of settings.

Answer
we used a few different setting to see what happends..
4 of them i think, and only one really shows promise (well, fastest promise)

Answer
usually, the highest the settings (in terms of joules), the better the results. even the 4th try might have been too low. you know how high?

Answer
i think the highest we went was 30 (i think) and that might have been the one that showed the most results.
The GentleLase patch has been fairly smooth now for a week or two.

Answer
LightSheer settings go up to 45 or so. if you have light skin, you can be treated with 35-40 I believe pretty safely. GentleLASE is usually 14-25 or so for most light skinned people, but can go up higher.

Answer
Hi...my skin color is light brown color with dark brown almost black hair. I'm thinking of going to one of the Advanced Laser Clinics...anyone ever had any experience with them? They have the light share diode laser...is this the kind that I should be using for my skin type?

Answer
LightSheer is not a good laser for you if you are a skin type IV or darker, and it seems that you are. You need to find a clinic with a Yag laser. With LightSheer, very low settings will have to be used to avoid burning your skin, which will most likely not be high enough to cause any damage to the hair. Find a clinic with a Yag type laser, like Coolglide or GentleYag etc.
You can look up you skin type by finding a Fitzpatrick chart online.
