Answer
The longer the wavelength, the deeper it will penetrate within the tissue.

Answer
Thank you for answering my question. So if I was getting treated with a "Yag" laser which has a 1064 nm wavelenght, will the results be more lasting and efficient as compared to an alexandrite that has a 755 nm?

Answer
Not necessarily. The coarser the hair, the deeper the follicle (usually). So if you are treating finer hairs, the YAG may go deeper than the papilla (the target) and miss the hair completely. In those instances, you need a tech who understands the science behind laser and the biology of hair. The tech would need to reduce the spot size, which makes the laser penetrate more shallow and raise the fluence which allows the laser to "see" finer hairs.
Hope this makes sense. I'm not very good at explaining my thoughts sometimes.
