South Florida LHR Help

Question
Hi i've been looking for a good LHR clinic in south florida (im in hollywood) I've spent at least the last 2weeks researching online.I think i've read most of the LHR forums I've been to many places and called many other places. Im so worried because of all the negative posts, People in those posts are getting cheaper price etc... I've been to three places
1st (Pamolar estelux) 4600$ for 8 treatments for the whole body
2nd(Candela)(Private Clinic) 1200$ per session for full legs, bikini, belly line and underarms(About 5-6 sessions needed so about 7200$)
3rd (Candela) 7600$ for 8 treatments for full legs, bikini, belly line and underams and with a guarantee
I have white skin(natural tan) and dark hair. But i've been waxing my legs only for 2 yrs so the hair is much finer and not as dark there than any other areas
Should i stop waxing and start shaving if i want to get LHR
Which one should I pick? Are these prices too high?
Can anyone recommend me somewhere else?(any laser tech or dr. that have been posting on this site)
Im really worried about LHR because everytime i call a place they tell me bad things about the lasers used by other clinics and also because of all the posts.
Im not rich so i can't afford to go to one place and then have it re-done somewhere else
Thanks a lot

Answer
I would definately stop the waxing now and start shaving only if you intend to go through with treatments. I would also give it a fair bit of time between the point in which you stop waxing and your very first treatment just to be safe. Obviously the hair follicle needs to be in place in order to be hit with the laser. I am from Australia so unfortunately I can't reccommend any good technicians in your area. I will say this though, when doing something that is expensive and with slight danger (scars-burning-pigmentation-all the horror stories) I don't think you should ever go the least expensive route. Something like this is not the place to save your money. Not to say that it would be any worse but your body is with you forever and you would hate to go somewhere to rectify a problem such as excess hair and come out with scars-burns etc. I would much rather pay more and go into treatments with confidence then pay less and hope for the best. Just keep doing your homework and shop around until you have found a place that you are happy with. You will know when it's the right place. LHR is expensive so make sure you are happy with the place you choose. You don't want to end up with bad results and have to go back and do it all over again. Find a knowledgeable technician who will listen to you and go out of her way to give you the best results and make you feel good about yourself. Also do some research on the lasers that are best for your skin and hair type. I would also suggest you find a place that specialises in hair removal rather than a beauty clinic that does waxing and nails. If they specialise in it you will find they know alot more about it, rather than trying to earn extra cash. Good luck

Answer
make sure your skin is at its lightest without a tan when you start treatments since higher settings can be used then and you will avoid possible burns. DO NOT WAX. You need to stop waxing at least 2 months prior to treatment so that roots are there to get killed.
check out kitty's consumer beware LHR forum for recommendations in florida. A few moderators on that site are really good specialists and are location in florida.

Answer
Well i can't get rid of that tan. I mean I had it as long as I can remember. My face and arms are darker than any other parts of my body but I live in Florida and it would be impossible to completly avoid the sun
I already made a post ion kitty's consumer beware. Haven;t heard of any of them yet. Except people telling me that I should find somebody that had it done and was happy, that;s what im trying to find out.
I might go to Ideal Image. Do you guys know if they are good? Would a candela would be OK for my skin. I don't know what type of skin I am, but i think im a 3-4. I rarely get burnt under the sun and always get a tan instead.
Are these prices in the average range? or expensive?
Thanks

Answer
Candela is a manufacturer. They make various lasers, including alexandrites and yags. find out which one they have. Most of them are good. with a type 3-4, either an alex or a yag will work. yag might take longer, but with alex high settings can't be used. so there are pros and cons. they should be able to decide what's best when they see your skin. you might want to consider waiting until fall when you're not getting as much sun for best results. it's an expensive procedure. i would want the best results possible. also, use a sunscreen on all areas while getting treatments and being out in the sun. the lighter, the better results since laser targets the dark pigment and also less chance of burns and hypopigmentation.
have u found any reviews on ideal image?
the prices sound about right. Legs are usually $500-800, bikini $100-250 (depending on how much you want off), $100-150 for underarms...etc
