Question
Hi I am a 21 year old female, looking to do LHR on my legs and Bikini. I am still shopping around for the right clinic to do this. I rang a clinc this morning to enquire about machines. I asked if they used diode or alexandrite lasers. She told me the machines used were the SIPL super intense pulsed light (apparently better than the regular Intense pulsed light machines). I have heard conflicting oppinions on the credibility on IPL as opposed to the diode or alexandrite lasers. She proceded to tell me it is used for skin rejuvenation but has separate heads especially for hair removal and that all heads are changed every 6 months or so and has several settings. I have booked a consultation to speak with her further, but I would just like to know if any one has any information on this or has themselves experienced success SIPL type LHR. I also found another clinic which uses the Lightsheer Diode laser. I have also booked a consultation with them to discuss my case. I am just trying to find out as much as possible before I go forward so any help is greatly appreciated. Thankyou

I would stay away from any type of IPLs, SIPLs or not. The concept is the same. It's a different technology used to kill hair, not by targeting the dark pigment of the hair. These machines are used for various procedures like the tech told you and unfortunately most who operate them just don't know enough about hair removal. They just do it with it because it comes with a head for that, so why not. For me, that's not how I want the tech to approach my situation. I like them to be knowledgeable about hair removal specifically, because that is what will get you best results. IPLs also take more treatments on average to get done even if it does work, so keep that in mind. With light skin and dark hair, you should get much better results with alex or a diode.
