Botox Allergy

Question
I was wondering if anyone else has ended up with welts all over after having had Botox injections.
Since having had an injection between my brows, I've had huge and seriously itchy welts. They start up around 9:00pm, then usually go away around 10:00am the next morning.
Without fail they come back at night. The welts appear some nights on my stomach, or my back, but never both. If they show up on my stomach, I will usually have them on my forearms as well. If they show up on my back, I usually get them on my legs.
It's the oddest thing. It's been three months since I had the injection, and I'm absolutely miserable. Benadryl helps me sleep some nights, but I wake up at all hours scratching my self to death.
Please post if you've had this experience. Needless to say, I won't be getting anymore injections.
Thanks!

Answer
I have not had this as a result of Botox, but several years in a row, I have experienced excruciating suffering due to urticaria, or hives. I finally found a solution that has been a godsend. I take two classes of anti-histamines, something I read about in a Mayo Clinic newsletter. My doctor concurred that this was a good idea. When the rash first begins, I start taking 10 mg of Zyrtec a day, along with 800 mg of Tagamet. I never realized that Tagamet was a class 2 anti-histamine. You must take a large dose of the class 2 in order to get the full effect, but in 48 hours you will see a huge difference. Good luck.

Answer
Thank you so much for the advice. It's been months and no one knows what to do for me.
I'll try this first thing tomorrow.
Take care!

I too have whelps that come up mostly in the evening and are gone by morning usually. My whelps are at injection sites in my scalp area. I have a huge one tonight about 1.5" in diameter. Benadryl is a good friend. My injections were given for headaches and post mva neck and shoulder spasm. I had fever the next 2 days. My last injection was October 21st 2003

I recently had Botox injections in my anus to lesson the muscle tension in order to avoid anal fissures, hemorrhoids. Now, mu anal area is totally swollen! So much so that it is MUCH tighter than before. What can be done. (I am also mildly allgeric to bee stings)
