Question
For the past three weeks I have been experiencing more pulling, tingling, itching etc. Not much different than the feelings I had 17-15 months ago after my facelift. Has anyone else experienced these feelings? Is this normal? Thanks

Answer
At 14 months I still have days where I feel pulling, and itching. The humidity and heat seem to kick it back up. I believe the pulling is the tight pull of the muscle layer under there, but the itching, sometimes twitching, and deadness are, sad to say, some form of nerve damage. Whether it's still "regenerating" sensations or just something we have to live with, who knows. I don't think even our /directory/index.php" target=_blank>doctors can answer that with any certainty. You're not alone, for sure!
It's been a trade off, but I'd do it all over again.

Answer
That's a long time to still be healing, I do hope I don't take that long I only gave myself 6 months, But like you 2 dogs I would do it again no problem.Chez x

Hi Ladies
18 month vet here!! Always check into the board to see whats occuring. I had face lift and lower /mmh/product/eyelidsurgery/index.vm?procid=6" target=_blank>eyes done. One and a half years on I am still numb in places, especially left jaw line and have a tight feeling and pulling around the back of the ears and at the sides from time to time. Some others have this as well. Its a sheer pain, and when I drink alcohol or am tired it tends to worsen. Needless to say, a day doesn`t go past when I don`t forget I had a face lift. Regardless of this, the result is good, and I am pleased, but would love it if the feeling would go, and I could `forget` my face!!
Things slow down a heck of a lot...there is still tingling and shooting pains and burning and itchiness.... nerve regeneration...could be!! I hope so, it means my journey is longer then others.
Jules xx

Thanks for your replies. I haven't been on the board for a year and I recognize you oldies who are still here helping others through the process. I agree that when it is hot or I am tired I do have more weird feelings. I may look normal to everyone, but I am constantly reminded by what is going on under my skin that something is different. I agree, I am still happy that I did it. I do find that the /mmh/product/therapy/index.vm?procid=40" target=_blank>frozen peas still help a lot when I have the itching and tingling. They are still soothing.

Here I am, at 14 months. I've had pretty serious itching all this week, in that same area along the sides of my face up to the temples. But when I scratch I realize it's still probably 30% numb. At least I can feel my fingernails now, unlike last summer when the itch was there with no way to get *any* relief! Nerve regeneration is apparently a very slow process.
I'm just plain sick of the heat, period. I think it makes all of our faces more sensitive than usual. I'm so looking forward to the "cool" spell this weekend.

Answer
I'm 14 months out and I suffer everyday with the crazy itching down the sides of my face and behind my ears. I can't seem to make it go away and I know I'm not doing any good by scratching excessively, especially when I can barely feel it.
I also have stabbing pains in the sides of the face and ear pain. Feels like I've been laying on my ear for hours, sometimes it feels like I've been out in the freezing cold and my ears are just warming up. It's the weirdest sensation, plus my ears are tacked really close to my head now, on a different angle than they were naturally, so my ear canals fill with water everytime I get a shower, then I can't get it out.
I also have some pulling & hear weird popping noises inside my cheek. I have a permanent stitch sticking out of the top of my left cheekbone that ocassionally bleeds.
I however, did not get a pleasant result. I now have these little pouches under my mouth on both ends that look like I have cotton in my mouth and I still have slack skin, my jaw line is not defined and I feel that I am no better than before the LSL.
I would have waited and had the full lift a few years down the road if I had known this was going to happen.
Good luck. Mallory, can you e-mail me and tell me where you had your procedure and your doctors name. Thanks

Answer
I meant LsGtsT can you e-mail me your doctor & office info.
Sorry.

Answer
Scarface,
If you would like to know more about my PS, email the information you would like. I rather not duscuss him in public.

Answer
Hi Scarface,
Sorry you're going thru such a bad time. I had the LSL a little less than 2 weeks ago and I'm curious why there is a stitch in your cheekbone, do you mean by where the ear meets the cheekbone? I just had my sutures removed yesterday & I never really thought about stitches left behind in the "cheekbone". Did you go back in to the LSL office to have it removed? Sorry for all the questions, but because mine was recent I'd be interested to know others results further down the road.
Thanks,
Crue

Answer
Hi Girls
It has just occurred to me that all of you are happy with your face lifts and all of you seem to be having some sort of discomfort still. I am not happy with mine and I have never felt any itchiness or shooting pains, nothing. My face is still numb in the same places as day 1 but I feel I havent much to show for it, except of course, that big dent in the side of my face.
At this stage after all that money spent, I'm a bit envious of your discomfort. I want a trade off too. Does that makes sense

Answer
I was brousing the
tummy tuck board as I'm getting ready for that surgery on 9/6 and thought I'd come on over here for old times sake. My /mmh/product/facelift/index.vm?procid=7" target=_blank>facelift 1 year anniversary was July 27th and I still have lots of times when I have a little tingling above my forehead, or my cheks feel swollen. I don't know if it's weather related or due to stress or what, but I'm incredibly pleased at this point with the way my face looks, so I'm happy to put up with it.
