2 days to go for blephs...practical advice for post op?

Question
2 days until upper and lower practical post op advice that only former patients could know. Icing...gauze directly on eyes and on top of that? Sleeping on back with lots of s under head? What can I expect and do in the 1st 5 days, prior to having the stitches out, for optimum comfort and healing... Thanks so much!

Answer
Hi bestBarbinGa - Thanks for the info- congratulations on feeling so well so soon.
Ipink - Sorry you aren't happy with your outcome...If I liked the way I looked, I wouldn't consider going to a surgeon. I am confident in my 's abilities and welcome, after many years of wishing to fix things, the opportunity to correct the genetic from my dad.

Answer
Always use an ocuplast for eye surgery, not a regular /directory/index.php" target=_blank>plastic surgeon. Major mistake to use a regular plastic surgeon............

Hi, I had ptosis repair and upper bleph July 31st and found that sleeping on an orthapaedic bed /mmh/product/pillow/elevation/index.vm?procid=39&catid=517" target=_blank>wedge stacked with /mmh/product/pillow/index.vm?procid=39" target=_blank>pillows keeps you elavated and comfortable, plus as much /mmh/product/therapy/index.vm?procid=40" target=_blank>ice pack treatment as you can muster for the first couple of days (my surgeon recommended 45mins out of every waking hour but I didn't quite manage that much!) Also avoid salt and stick to a low sodium diet. I cut out eating salt 2 weeks prior to surgery and am still not eating it now and hardly had any swelling. The artificial tears are great for itchy uncomfortable eyes. I used an oculo/directory/index.php" target=_blank>plastic surgeon (Jane Olver in England) and my eyes are perfectly symmetrical though I was ever so nervous beforehand that they wouldn't be. Also I rested but made sure I was up out of bed and walking around as the anaethestist said I would heal quicker that way. Very best of luck, hope all goes well for you.

Answer
My vision was really poor for two weeks so be prepared. I had 5 days of medicine put into small paper cups labeled with the letter of each day followed by a 1, 2, or 3. For the days I could not read labels, I was able to read enough to take my morning, mid day and night medicine without constant company dispensing it to me.
Have an eye mask to sleep at night in the event your eyes dont close. Even the slightest opening can allow drying out and light to interupt your rest.
Good luck with everything
