15 month update!!!! post op face and lower eyes

Question
Hi Ladies
Well, today I went for a fifteen month post op check. My surgeon said I looked great, I am improving as time goes on etc. I must admit, I look like an early 30 year old ( I am nearly 43) I told him I still have tightness around the cheek and under chin area ( had lipo there). He pulled a face and said ` ahhhhhhhhh really, not had any complain about that before`. He says the say bloody thing every time I see him. On the other hand, I went to see Norman Waterhouse in Harley street, London ( a renowned PS) and he said that it takes a lonnnnnng time to heal, and he has had women who have complained of tightness after one year etc.
If I didnt look so dam good, maybe they would be more sympathetic???
Now we are coming into Summer here in London, the humidity makes my face feel so tight, I reckon its scar tissue, my right /mmh/product/eyelidsurgery/index.vm?procid=6" target=_blank>eye still feels like it has something in it. Yet it looks ok, (apart from a few indents...my friends have said its fab looking.) Sometimes I feel this terrible pressure in my head, ( hay fever, sinus etc in the humid hot weather)
Ok, just wanted to get this off my chest....Anniepie and Elaine, Ladydoc, 2dogs, in my fantasy world, we are in my front room, bitching about our proceedures...and having a glass of wine, some crips and watching Big Brother!!!

Answer
Hi Jules,
I'm still lurking and still healing!!! Nearly 2 years for me!!
I do not feel normal at all but it is ever so slightly better month by month.
I really wish I could say Yeh it's over but it's not yet.
I don't get really desperate these days but I did at your stage...just wanted to scream some days, so dearly did not want to be aware of my face every bloody waking moment.
But it is still progressing so I keep hoping.
I too look absolutely fine on the outside ...it is the inside that drives you NUTS!!
Anyway , I think of us all and send good wishes.

Answer
Jules, it's so nice to hear from a veteran. I really admire those, like you, who stick around and 'give back' to the "next generation" of women either anxiously awaiting their surgery day OR recently post-op and wondering "is this lump/bumb/numbness/pain 'normal?!?" This board has been my link to sanity and there's been many a day when reassurance from veterans kept me from curling into a fetal heap! I hope I can do the same for newbies in the future. Our surgical experiences may be individual, but our emotions are universal!
I'm so sorry you're still feeling those after-effects. But how nice that you had such a wonderful result! If you have any pictures up, I'd love to see them!
