Question
Hello, my 17 year old son wants the bags under his eyes removed. Large dark circles are hereditary in my family. What kind of procedure would be needed, /mmh/product/eyelidsurgery/index.vm?procid=6" target=_blank>Blepharoplasty or a cheek lift? There is no "fat" under his eyes, just LARGE, dark, circles.
He even created his own before and after photos. The after photo is simply him lifting the /mmh/product/beauty/index.vm?procid=13" target=_blank>skin on his cheek a little higher and tighter....I am not sure if we should go through with the surgery. Please let me know!
Answer
He probably needs a couple consults with occuplastic surgeons,he may only need fat tranfer to fill in the dark hollows. Has he tried an under/mmh/product/eyelidsurgery/index.vm?procid=6" target=_blank>eye concealer?Take him to a nice dept store and let the /mmh/product/makeup/index.vm?procid=54" target=_blank>makeup artists try to cover his dark hollows,he is very young for surgery and it would be a lot cheaper to use a good concealer.
Answer
just wanna express my relief 'cos I thought I am the only 17 years old male who contemplates having blepharoplasty.
Answer
First of all, your son is a handsome young man. It's hard to really see everything in a picture, but it looks as if your son might have hollowness under the /mmh/product/eyelidsurgery/index.vm?procid=6" target=_blank>eyes, probably hereditary. I'm no expert but I don't think a /mmh/product/eyelidsurgery/index.vm?procid=6" target=_blank>/mmh/product/eyelidsurgery/index.vm?procid=6" target=_blank>/mmh/product/eyelidsurgery/index.vm?procid=6" target=_blank>/mmh/product/eyelidsurgery/index.vm?procid=6" target=_blank>bleph would address that. He might benefit from fat inserted there. My advice would be to get consults from several occuloplasts. It is a /mmh/product/scar_reduction/index.vm?procid=42" target=_blank>scary thing to think of messing around with the face of someone so young. That's why you want to make sure if you decide to get any kind of surgery that it is with a surgeon you fully trust. Good luck.
Answer
ah more relief.. i am not alone in this crowd of younger people with hollowness searching for surgery
Answer
Gee, what a good looking kid, such beautiful eyes. Be really careful.
Answer
From what I can see in the pictures, your son absolutely does NOT need a /mmh/product/eyelidsurgery/index.vm?procid=6" target=_blank>bleph - removing ANY tissue would be a big mistake in his case. He also does not need a /mmh/product/facelift/index.vm?procid=7" target=_blank>facelift because his cheek pads are just exactly where they should be given his youth, and would look unnatural if stretched upward. He is a very nice looking young man, and in my opinion does NOT need surgery at all.
Like some others have posted, I would suggest that if his undereye area really bothers him, he might look into fillers such as Restylane or fat. Such substances can be added to the undereye area via injection and simply fill out the existing structure. I had /mmh/product/botox/index.vm?procid=20" target=_blank>Restylane injected in my undereye area and it made a huge difference (I too was hollow there from a young age). My suggestion is to do a LOT of research before even trying these "minimally invasive" procedures, as you want to be extremely careful around the eye area.
Additionally, if he has darker pigmentation under the eyes than on the rest of the face (it's hard to tell from the photo, but it looks like he might), I would suggest seeing a dermatologist and/or oculospecialist about the possiblity of treating the /mmh/product/beauty/index.vm?procid=13" target=_blank>skin with lasers. Sometimes the dark circles are exacerbated by pigmentation more than actual hollowing.
Best of luck!
