2 1/2 weeks post op--questions

Question
i had an endo browlift, U/L SO tight. i feel like my forehead and underneath my chin have been shrink-wrapped a size too small!
does anyone know what i'm talking about? does anyone know when this tends to get better? even though it's not painful, it's uncomfy so i tend to take an aleve in the morning. i haven't been using ice or heat and i'm wondering if anyone's gotten relief from the "too tight" feeling with either of them.
BTW, using a u-shaped, neck pillow filled with microbeads is a godsend when trying to sleep on your side. you can put your ear in the opening. thought this might be useful info for someone.

(i had to change my name because the new board wouldn't let me sign in using my old info)

Answer
WHY OH WHY DID YOU HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR USER NAME TO CONTINUE ON THE NEW BOARD? I DIDN'T!
AFTER A WHILE WE TEND TO IDENTIFY WITH NOM DE PLUMES (AKA USER NAMES) AND TO ANTICIPATE AND EMPATHIZE WITH PROGRESS AND/OR PROBLEMS.
HAVING TO MAKE AN EFFORT TO RECONNECT CAUSES A SIGNIFICANT DISCONNECT WITH THE INFORMATION GATHERING/HEALING PROCESS WE CALL CAME ABOARD TO ACQUIRE.
SO, WHILST THE NEW FORMAT IS GREAT, LET'S MAKE THE TRANSITION SMOOTHER FOR EVERYONE.

Answer
i didn't intend to have to change my name but the new board wouldn't let me log in with the old name/password. i haven't been here all that long so it's not a big deal to change it.
i think this board is such a big improvement over the other, it's worth a bit of sacrifice.
in the meantime, do you have any advice on my tightness trouble?shakti

Answer
hi fig (shakti)
sorry for the delay in getting back to you about this. the tightness and swelling go away little by little over the next weeks and months. while, you'll see a lot of progress at 4 weeks, then at 6, by 8 you'll feel almost yourself again. the thing is the progress keeps you going. it will be more and more comfortable from week to week. hang in there. the same is true for the numbness.
it's a long process, but by 4 to 6 weeks, you'll be so happy with your new face, it will begin to make sense.
hope you're feeling better as you read this.

p.s. i can't say enough for wrapping your head in the ice sock. i loved it so much. it made the swelling and tightness bearable.

Answer
elle, thanks so much for your advice.
even though the changes happen quickly and often, it gets tiresome not looking like yourself, having strange bumps and hardnesses appear, not sleeping well, etc. i've never regretted this but do wish the healing would happen already!
i was thinking of using ice but it's so cold here and i've been walking outside daily, i wonder if it'll be too much cold. i saw my PS yesterday and mentioned the tightness. he said it's a good thing. his assistant went on to say that the longer the tightness lasts, the longer the results will last. so it's much easier to handle now.
your progress reports are so helpful to me. they keep my spirits up and also tell me what to expect along the way!shakti

Answer
Hi Shakti (formerly Fig )
You had your 'work' done just around the time I had mine done. I too had an endoscopic brow lift and a mini http://indianabrowhealing.blogspot.com which I started to journal my healing progress, and this is one of 3 reconstructive operations.
Anyhoo, glad to meet you guys and I'll keep reading
Best
