Question
I am scheduled for a face-lift in a month and wonder how long before then I should stop using Retin-A. When can I begin using it after the surgery?
Answer
I am not sure but I would leave it off at least a week before surgery and then not again until the wounds are healed, say 3-4 weeks. You could phone your ps and ask he might be able to give you definate times.Chez x

Answer
My ps gave me a five week timetable. He told me to use Retin A every day for three weeks, then two weeks prior to surgery to discontinue all use of it. I began again two months after surgery. I began by using it every 72 hours at first which is every three days. My ps is very precise about everything, but I had great results!!

Answer
firstteacher, I can use your info for Retin A to be used 2 months post op. I didn't ask my ps and started using it 3 weeks post op and boy my whole face and head felt like it wanted to burst open. I think it was just tightness and irritation from Retin A. I used it twice and have stopped.
I will retry again in 4 weeks and only once every 3 days as you said.
